Do you prefer color schemes or actual themes?

I’ve been naughty and have a theme AND a colour scheme! My colour is bright pink, and my theme is Sweets! so the two tie in quite well together as a lot of sweets are pink! and the cake is pink with sweets decorating it and we have a sweetie buffet with bright pink sweetie bags etc…

i love the idea of your theme! You could tie in colours with it too (i.e silver, dark purple or red etc)?

We’re doing colors, but not overwhelmingly so. Personally I don’t like going overboard with the color thing, so I wouldn’t say that our wedding has any type of scheme or theme at all.

While I would never do a theme, I do think that they can be fun for other people. I think it would be really cool to attend a heavily themed wedding of some sort

Colors. Themes seem much more suited for less meaningful events.

Colors. I didn’t have the patience to be putting together a themed wedding.

Our colors were navy, gold and white. Our theme was Lighthouse/ Coastal I think.

I don’t agree that having a theme is more suitable for less meaningful events at all. I think your day should refelect you as a couple. I think themes are more suited to couples who are perhaps more quirky and outgoing? For us, a wedding with muted colours would not have been us at all! however it would suit other couples much better to have something less outrageous i guess.

I don’t understand how these things are treated as mutually exclusive.  They’re entirely different things.
