I know my teachers name but that’s just because she was my favorite teacher and my mom used to always tell me how much I loved her, not really because I remember.

I don’t remember much of anything from my childhood though.

I remember my teachers name and a few kids that were in my class but not any other specifics.

I remember my teacher’s name, the setup of the classroom, different groups I sat in, different activities, games we played at recess…

I tend to remember a lot of details from my past

I don’t remember day to day stuff, but as I barely remember breakfast, that isn’t saying much. I do remember big things. My move to NJ, the school bullies, my teacher, things we learned, that they refused to move me out of the “slow readers” group despite reading at a 5th grade level by that point, my mean Hebrew teacher (it was private school). My brain and memories snapped on between nursery school and kindergarden, so after that I have snippets of everything.

i rememeber my teacher, ms baker, i remember reading time on the floor, painting activities, and she would sometimes bring in baked goods to make in class. We made rice krispie treats in class once and that was the best day ever. I had a crush on a little boy with brown hair (boy crazy) and thats all i remember.

Everything, in vivid detail.  Same for kindergarten.

@Bostongrl25:  Yes!  My teacher’s name was Ms. Glasser, she later went on to marry my 6th grade teacher.  My best friend was Brittany.  I don’t remember classroom routines other than that we would pull the temporary wall between the other first grade classroom and share reading time.  We had a meteorologist visit that I had a huge crush on from the local weather station even tho he was OLD.  And we had baby chicks hatch and live in our classroom for awhile 🙂

@ImaStarr:  I have very vivid memories. Usually right down to what I was wearing. What someone else was wearing, etc.

I remember the room, the playground, exactly what the teacher looks like (though the name escapes me), how I dressed, my shoes, the boy I had a crush on, my arithmatic book, trying to get away with making a cursive “q” exactly the same was as a cursive “g” because they looked the same to me.

I didn’t attend the same school or was even in the same state since 2nd grade so it’s not like I see that place all the time. I just have vivid memories lol

I could describe my preschool room and daycare (before preschool) room too. Though I never remember names lol

I remember a lot of it, mostly that I hated my teacher because she refused to teach above grade level, almost failed because I was bored, “had a stomachache” a LOT, and eventually got to go to 2nd grade for 2 hours a day.

Nope. I don’t remember anything about my childhood (with the exception of 3 memories) from ages 2-11.

I’m assuming it’s a coping mechanism my brain decided to use to erase memory of trauma, but 2 of the 3 memories I do have are of the trauma.

Yes, a decent amount. I remember my teacher, eating lunch at my desk, learning to read, saying the pledge of allegiance, taking group bathroom trips and recess. I only remember the name of one little girl who sat next to me. Her name was Tomiko and I remember thinking that was the best name in the world 😉

I have very vivid memories of certain events, but almost none of day to day things or general stuff.  Like I can remember specific conversations from a play date and talking about a book in class, but I couldn’t walk into my old school today and tell you which classroom I was in.
