FI and I just got matching Galaxy S4s, but we aren’t sure what we want to do with our old Samsung Infuses yet. What do you normally do do with your phone when you upgrade? I know a lot of you may be thinking about this right now with the new iPhones just out. I’d like to be offered a decent amount of cash, but don’t want to get ripped off–and if I can’t get a decent amount, I’d at least like it to do the most good possible.

@EffieTrinket: I sell all of my old phones on eBay. I have always gotten at least the same amount I paid for the new phone, sometimes I get more

My 3 previous phones are all in my desk drawer, except one old iPhone I gave to my mom.

If someone I know wants it, I give it to them, otherwise I just hang onto it incase I/someone else needs a spare

I tend to keep them then turn them into my foreign phone by buying different SIM cards.
(like my newest old phone is my USA number, another HK etc)
If I didnt do that I guessI would give them to charity or something

I keep them and eventually seem to end up giving them away to someone who doesn’t have a working phone. Not sure why that always happens.

I’ve only ever had dumbphones. They are all sitting in the drawer right next to me. Every once in a while I power them up and read through the old saved text messages I have. Otherwise they just sit there. I keep my phones for ages (first one three years, second one five years), so they are really darn beat up. I wouldn’t get any money for them since they’re falling apart.

@EffieTrinket: We send ours to the san diego zoo to get recycled.
