@alaskin17:  I read this last week.  I do shop at Whole Foods, and while I get her point, and do understand where she’s coming from, just didn’t find it really that funny.

When I was in the US I shopped at whole foods but not as an “every week” thing. It was like a special occasion treat. Everyone was always pretty chill at the one I went to, but I get the idea, I snickered. And I have never heard anyone describe hot yoga in a way that made me imagine enjoying it at all… I’ve done regular yoga a little and thought it was okay, but the sweaty heat part sounds awful!!

@alaskin17:  Oh I get that she’s a comedian.  It’s just that I don’t necessarily agree that Whole Foods is so overpriced.  I can honestly find a lot of things cheaper there than at my local grocery store, though DH and I are very particular about our products (all organic, non GMO, etc)

I shop at a local ‘Whole Foods’ type place called The Turnip Truck and go to one of the two pop-up farmer’s markets weekly as needed for veggies, honey, fruit, et cetera. Whole Foods is like twenty minutes away, ain’t nobody got time for that.

Whole Foods’ generic house brand, the 365 label, is cheap, cheap, cheap.

If you go there and buy what’s on sale, it’s very competitively priced.

However if you go there and just randomly start throwing cool things into your shopping cart, you’ll quickly run up a tab. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
