My close friend was telling me that she and her FI do this all the time for the practicality of it. This confused me since FI and I shower together when we have some time to waste;)
What about you?
It's a rarity...we like totally different temperatures and always get in each others way! I always thought it would be fun, but now we both know better and just take turns!
hmmm personnally we do it from time to time, to have a good time and have some time to spend together... Otherwise I don't see how waiting in the cold while the other is under warm water, having water splashing in your face, can be practical and fun when you're in a hurry to get to work! We used to do it but now I just go in the other shower... :)
I had a co-worker who told me she and her BF showered together every morning before work. That's tooo much for me; I like my alone time and I like the water super hot!
No way! I'm all for showering together occasionally for a "good time" *wink* but not everyday! He would get in the way of me shaving, etc...
Haha it's definitely not practical for us, since it ends up taking way longer when we're together in there than when we're alone. So yeah...definitely not for saving time, but like you, when we have time to waste!
We shower together on the weekends because during the week he gets up earlier than I do.
I usually shower by myself during the week, just because I leave in the morning much earlier. But on the weekend we take showers together. If we left for work at the same time, I'm sure we would shower together then as well.
Nope. I shower at night, he usually showers in the morning. And it's not really sexy for him to watch me wash my hair, condition it, scrub my body, shave my legs, shave my armpits, etc. It's an occassional fun thing for us.
Occassionally for fun. FI is a big guy and would get in my way when I was trying to wash my hair, shave, etc.
We might pretend that its quicker to shower together, but we actually usually take longer, and not because of "fun time" (though that does happen on occasion), but rather because we end up just talking. Its become our private time to talk without distractions--I like it.
Sometimes if we are in a hurry so that we both have plently of hot water. We have a shower the has the standard head and a of the heads with a hose. It was a replacement one avaible at BBB for about $50 bucks.
fi doesn't like sharing the shower :( we do occasionally for fun
It's one of those occassional fun things to do especially when the FIL is away. You know what the say, "When cat goes away, the mice come out to play"
It has been a while and definitely not since I have been preggie...Hmmmm :)
I think we may have two or three times. Living in an apartment with a small shower and him being 6'5" with *really* broad shoulders makes it more of a hassle instead of sexy.
We share for occasional entertainment value only. Otherwise, we like having it to ourselves!
Shhh, we usually shower together on weekends to save time. No really ... sometimes we're running late on Saturday morning, and we need to get going. So, we shower together.
We do every day. Like nonimouse, it's become our special private time to talk. :) And, honestly, it is fun. Hehehehehe...
Rarely – I like really, really hot water (and have the heater on in the bathroom), and FH likes shower water that’s way to cold for me (and hates the bathroom heater being on).
It’s also my time by myself in the morning to wake up and think about the day, etc.
Also, like some pp have said, FH’s a bigger guy with very broad shoulders, so it’s just not really fun for practical showering purposes.
@gabrielleelise - I LOVE hot showers too. The hubs can't take the heat, lol...
We both leave for work at the same time in the morning so we shower together to save time. We have ALWAYS done this...starting when we first moved in together and now I think it is just routine! (Although we also do it occasionally on the weekends for fun ;) ) We don't always take the same amount of time though. Example: This morning I woke up a few minutes before him so I hopped in first. He joined me when he finally rolled out of bed, and when I was done in the shower I just hopped out and continued to get ready while he finished showering. I can see how it wouldn't work for everyone, but for us.... it's just part of our morning routine!
i am definitely a fan of the "occassional for a good time" shower together session (like last night! :P) but not for the every day... not practical! and if anything wastes more time trying to take turns! :P
why can't men take the heat?!?!? I've always wondered why when we take showers together he thinks my water is scalding while I feel like his is too cold? He says i have circulation issues...lol...but now I know i'm not the only one!
We used to shower together all the time at the beginning of our relationship. But now, it's not as often b/c the thrill of it has kinda passed, and I hate how cold he keeps the water (and he hates how hot I keep the water). However, FI is an architect, and he has promised that one day when we build our own house he will design us a 2-person shower with individual temperature controls. Then I forsee showering together all the time :-)
We definitely don't. We've tried it a couple times and its so not sexy to me at all. We're just a slippery, sliding mess! Lol. And now that I think about it, I don't think it would work for us in a practical sense either because you just take twice as long to get stuff done.
krissy18 that is exactly how we do it! we shower together all the time! during the day i'll shower after the gym and that's when i'll shave. in the evening we shower before bed and that's just because we want to feel clean and it's just sexy hehe i usually don't wash my hair at that point though. then on the weekends when we have more time we will shower together, kiss and talk(that's a big one lol we actually hold conversations) and i'll wash my hair and stuff. he will get done before me and hates the way conditioner feels so he'll usually get out before i do lol
We do it every now and then. Sometimes for fun, sometimes because I'm bored and we have some interesting conversations in there. Weird, I know. lol.
Whenever we find ourselves needing to shower at around the same time, we shower together. It would be impractical and a waste of water to take turns, and we both enjoy it, even if we do have battles over the water temperature. (My favorite is waiting until his eyes are covered in lather from the shampoo and then turning the heat up to where I like it and seeing if he notices.) (He always does.) Part of my dream-house fantasy is a dual-head walk-in shower.
[Edit] Just noticed all the comments about men who can't stand how hot we like to keep the shower. I'm a huge conservationist so I never thought I was keeping the water unusually hot at all, but FI accuses me of attempting to boil him alive to eat him for dinner every time we get in the shower. He would keep the water at about what I consider a "refreshing dip in the pool" temperature. I thought it was just us! Is this the way it is for everyone else too?
We do pretty often, now that i think about it. We generally like the water at around the same temperature, and we're both small enough to fit in there without much conflict. Also, how else are you gonna wash your back? I do kick him out or start earlier if I have to shave though. I don't need any errors in that department!
Occasionally for fun :) I know this sounds weird, but we usually do it when we're hungover on a Sunday or something as being apart for even 10 minutes seems totally dreadful.
We're the same. It's just for a "fun time" FI gets light-headed in warm showers and cold ones tend to make my hair feel rough and icky. Besides, it feels weird shaving in front of him and stuff, especially since my showers generally take longer than his.
We take more baths together than showers.... but we do it for a good time! ;)
When I was younger the together shower seemed so sexy and scandalous. It is very rare occurrence at this point in our lives mostly because of the often echoed sentiment on the board that men just cannot deal with hot showers.
I do think it is more on the goofy funny side when we do end up in there together and we always revert to not dropping the soap jokes. Very mature.
@tobemrsg HAHAHA! omg everytime one of us(usually it's him) drops the soap we crack up! we're totally mature but that never gets old!
It seems we're alone in this, but we have never found showering together to be sexy. We've tried a bunch of times now, in different places, each time hoping that some sort of magic would happen and we'd suddenly enjoy this class risqué activity that everyone else seems to love, but no. Like so many others, FI like his water much cooler than me, plus it is just so unsexy to us to be standing outside the stream of water while the other rinses off, to be hit by the other's sludged-off dirt, to shave in the other's presence, and to be all slippery when we try to touch each other. We've just never gotten into it, and as for practicality, it definitely takes us longer together than it would each of us separately. This is just something we can't get into.
We've never showered together. He is super self-conscious and our showers have always been a way we've relaxed and either gotten ready for the day or unwound from the day.
Um yeah for a good time, but we usually are in the bathroom chatting. i love to watch him shower and sometimes i join while i am watching him... but um we don't get much showering done... <3 him lol
We shower together occasionally and it's very fun but usually we shower separately. I like to have super hot showers and it just gets to be too crowded when we're both in there. And I usually shower at night and FI showers in the morning.
same with us, the FI likes the water ssooo freakin cold! I can't take it, and then he says I like it too hot! lol If we do shower together it's to fool around and it won't be for too long. haha
