I gave a gift to my parents not to thank them for any financial contributions, but to thank them for the unconditional love and support and good advice they have doled out for the last 30+ years of my life.

Hmm I think this is a personal choice. We gave my parents a very generous gift because they paid for the whole wedding. I don’t think we would have gotten them anything other than a nice, heartfelt card if they hadn’t contributed at all.

@lovekiss:  +1! I’m in the same situation, and have every intention of buying my parents a gift. No matter what I get, it will pale in comparision for the love, support, guidance etc. that they have provided over the past 26 years!
