i adore my engagement ring but I’ve noticed because of the marquise cut, it’s really sharp and I’ve cut myself, DH, and my daughter!
my question is when did you stop wearing your engagement ring and just wear your band?? Or do you still wear it?
I feel like it’s really fancy for everyday anyways!

I still wear mine everyday alongside my weddingband. I don’t have a very large stone though, so it doesn’t get in the way at all.

I’ve only been married a month, but I plan on always wearing my engagement ring. The only times I take it off is to shower and if I’m doing some heavy duty cleaning & cooking. Otherwise, it stays on. FI put a lot of thought & money into it, plus I love the way it looks with my wedding band 🙂
I could see how some rings could hurt though, I always wondered that about pears and marquis!

When I picked out my ring I specifically took a lot of things into account to make sure it was something I could wear every day. I’m clumsy and tend to bang rings into stuff a lot, I also wear gloves in a lab almost daily etc. So I settled on a low profile solitare e-ring. The only time I don’t wear it anymore is when I go work out. Then I just wear a band because I feel it does get in the way.

My mom has a marquee and it used to scratch me all the time as a child! That’s specifically why I told my SO I didn’t want a marqee! 😉

I wear my e-ring for basically everything but I did get a band that could stand-alone in the future. For the time being, I plan on wearing both every day! I <3 the way they look together

I only got my band so it matched my legacy. So I don’t plan on ever wearing just the band – I don’t love it .

I picked out a perfectly matching set because I plan on ALWAYS wearing both. I couldn’t imagine not wearing my e-ring, and I’m sure my husband wouldn’t appreciate me not wearing it after the money he spent!

I chose my e ring for its wearability. In other words, its not too big to get annoying and it doesnt have any sharp corners or anything that would annoy me daily. Is there a different setting you could switch to that would help reduce scratching?

I think I definitely will. My only request with my engagement ring and any future jewerly was please don’t get me a marquis. I had one from an ex and cut myself and others constantly.

I still wear mine every day.

I had my engagement ring stone reset into a stand-alone wedding ring which is my everyday ring. I also still have my original band, which I like to wear when I’m feeling particularly low-key or simplistic and also when travelling.

My e-ring is a 3-stone with halos. I bought a wedding band that compliments it, but it doesn’t “fit” perfectly with the e-ring. I plan to wear it forever, unless and until DH decides to buy anniversary bands. If he does, then I’d probably swap the e-ring out for that. But IDK if he actually plans to (though he’s hinted at it), nor would I push for it.
I also have daydreams of someday swapping out the e-ring stones, giving them to kids for their e-rings, and replacing them with their birthstones. But I’d have to find a jeweler willing to mess with tube settings.

I wear just my wedding band most of the time, a plain gold band. My e-ring doesn’t scratch or get caught on anything, but I just find it easier. I have a baby and I’m constantly washing my hands, changing diapers, etc. I wear my e-ring when we go out, or sometimes I just put in on at night after my daughter goes to bed, just to admire it. I think it makes me appreciate it more when I don’t wear it all the time. I don’t plan on ever changing or replacing it, I love it! But it’s too much for everyday wear, and I don’t wear nice clothes or any other jewelry anyway.

I picked my e-ring so that it would go with everything and a setting that wouldn’t poke and snag anything. I wear just my band to sleep and shower and clean but other than that I always have my ering on. I would feel silly to drop so much money on a piece of jewelry I didn’t wear all the time. That being said, my mom only wears hers for special occasions and doesn’t even wear a band.
