Just as a head's up: St. John's Wort might have the capacity to interfere with birth control pills. I would check with your doctor before you start taking it.
I don't take it because I already take Celexa and you can't mix antidepressants with St. John's wort. If it keeps up, definitely don't be afraid to go see your doctor...the medicine helped me a LOT!
I am not on any Antidepressants. I actually stopped taking my birth control last year to give my body a break after being on it for 7 years. Thanks for the info!
If you are not worried about it interfering with anything, it could be a good solution for you. I know a friend who took it and had great results. She always said that she just felt "better" on it. But I would still check with my doctor first. Good luck!
My mom has had mild depression and anxiety all of her life. She definitely feels better when she's taking the St. John's Wort. I've thought about taking it myself, actually. I just suck at remembering to take pills.
I want to start taking it again. it just sucks when you forget to take it. You get really irratated. I was taking it for my anxiety. i didn't want to be on RX meds any longer. So I took it for a month and felt great. Then I slipped up and then got busy and just forget to take it. Have you even stepped down on another drug like Lexapro or Zoloft? It's the same feeling. You get those crazy brain zaps and you feel like you could chew through a piece of steel and punch your fist through someone's face if they said the wrong thing to you.
I may start taking it again and actually remember to take it.
I work for a natural supplements company and we seel the St-John's wort, it's a good product that I actually recommend (no because I work here) but because I've taken it.
Thanks so much for all your advice...it was exactually what I was looking for! I will be picking up a bottle tonight. How long does it take for you to notice a change in your mood?

Just wondering if anyone is/has taken St. John's Wort & if it has worked for you. I have been a little depressed lately. I don't really have a reason to be but I often go from being happy and then sad over the littlest things. I am a very emotion person to begin with. I plan on seeing my doctor about this if I it keeps occuring.
Thanks gals!
