At my last wedding we played "This Years Love" by David Gray as the processional.  I absolutely LOVE that song, is it ok to play it at ALL during my reception?

My memories of the song are NOT tied to my xh.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I'm not an encore but if both you and your fiance are comfortable with it, go for it!

Oh absolutely!  I think we're using this as a processional too, or our first dance.  I love that song.  As long as there arent any weird feelings about playing it, Id say go ahead.

As long as he's fine with it and there's no weird feeling attached, go for it.

I agree, its whether or not you are comfortable with it.  Not a problem at all if you want it and are ok with it.

I don't think there is an issue with it. I love David Gray, but I don't think I've ever heard the song.

    Go for it.

I loved all the music I had for my big, fat, huge protestant wedding I had to my former husband.  i still love Andrew Lloyd Webber music.

If you're comfortable with it, go for it. I'm wearing my own encore dress (with some modifications) and was pleasantly surprised to find that other than loving the dress, there's no emotional connection. It's just a pretty dress. If you love the song, play it.

I think that it's totally fine, as long as you've discussed and cleared things with FI.  I would re-use a song if there was one that meant that much to me, and it didn't bother my fiance.

Yeah, make new memories. Go for it as long as it's not going to bother you or your FI on your wedding day.

I have some songs that have other memories, and others that have overlapped because they're more about what I like than the man I was with at the time.
