- Wedding: June 2013
We plan to get married next June, in southern New Hampshire. All the venues cost thousands and thousands of dollars just for the space, and have so many restrictions (no music, no smoking, no hard liquor, leave before 8pm, etc etc). So. My parents live on a corner property in the area. I was thinking we could have the reception at their house. Our guest list has about 90 people on it (that’s just who’s getting invited, who knows who’ll show up?), so I am unsure whether they will fit on the property. The lot size is .14 acres, which is about 6000 square feet, but that includes the house! What is nice is that the yard wraps around the house. There is a nice porch where people could sit, and there could be food stations around the yard. There is a patio in the back for a small amount of dancing. People could park in the munipal lot a few blocks away. There are flowers and trees that are gorgeous.
Do you think it would work to sort of have a casual, wrap around the house reception? If not, any ideas of finding a place to have a wedding that doesn’t cost four thousand dollars?
