I will usually toss it shortly after the wedding. I don't like clutter lol
I kept one once as inspiration for mine, but now mine wont be anything like it!
I usually have them on my fridge until the event, and then after that - round file!
I have never kept a wedding invite.. bad huh? heheh I guess the only one's that I would keep are for when my sisters get married. Other than that, trash can it is!
I try to keep them but after a few months I throw them away, that's why I'm not trying to spend a lot on mine and doing semi-DIY ones
I am with mander411 -- no clutter! Though I clicked "it depends" because I was making a scrapbook last year so I kept two that we went to in 2009 for the book.
One of my friends couldn't bear to throw out my wedding invitation, so she mailed it back to me (I guess she felt guilty)... so I threw it out! Waste of a stamp on her part. :)
I usually throw them away as soon as I send back the RSVP card.
I will say though, that if the invite was from one of my best friends or a close family member, I would keep it :)
I absolutely hate clutter so I usually keep them until the wedding has occured and then I throw them out.
I said it depends, often I keep them on my fridge for a while, but eventually they get tossed (after the wedding) to make room for new ones. When it came time to do my own invites though, I did mine more for myself I guess, I wanted to do something I felt was neat, even though of course I know most will get thrown away! That's why I did the DIY route though, much cheaper than getting letterpress or something!
not pretty ones... im a HUGE paper person, but i only keept he ones i find amazing or unusal.
This poll is the exact reason why I am skeptical about spending huge amounts on invites....
I throw them out almost instantly, I am afraid of clutter it's one of my biggest fears!
They hang on the fridge until the wedding, then end up in the garbage!
They stay on my fridge until the wedding, then they normally come with me to the wedding if they have any important information on them (directions, etc.) and then otherwise I toss them once I get to the wedding or might bring them home and keep them with my important papers/photos if the person is particularly important to me.
@capitalbride.. Exacttttlyyyy!! That's why I did mine, which they look damn good to me for CHEAP! paper goes in the garbage no need to spending 500$ + for invites :P
As other people have said, I keep them on the fridge until the wedding, then they're gone.
i usually keep them until the wedding day.... if they are awesome invites, i keep them forever!
Not that I throw them away. But they always seem to get lost in the shuffle of all my other paper stuff. I almost feel guilty to just toss them in the trash.
Yes and no. I will throw it away after the event most likely but maybe not - I think it depends on who is getting married!
I recently found 3 wedding invitations in my car's glove compartment. I usually take the invitation with me to the wedding (to have the addresses on hand). I threw them away.
IMO after the event they no longer serve a purpose and in our small apartment if you don't serve a purpose or hopefully multiple purposes... you're out.

Whenever I see a complex wedding invitation suite, my first though is: why bother when they're just going to end up in the trash? But that's not the case for everyone. What about you? Do you take your wedding invites seriously or are they tomorrow's recycling?
