Definitely. They are providing you with a service just like a waitress, a hairstylist, etc. They deserve a tip.

@PuntaCanaBride:  I understand that, but I’m tipping for the day of, rather than the trial.  I don’t think they need two tips for the same client/bill

It could go either way I think. I tipped for the trial because I felt weird not doing it. But I tipped based on the price of the trial that was written in our contract. On the day of, I tipped on the total minus the trial since I’d already tipped for that previously.

If you’re going to tip on the entire balance (don’t forget to include any deposits you paid!) on the day of, I think it will be fine. If you want to tip for the trial, just remember you did that when you’re deciding on the tip amount the day of.

@PuntaCanaBride:  I agree … tip both times.  It’s not like you tip your hairdresser once even if you are going for repeat service.

Good question! I have a trial TOMORROW so I will be sure to take some extra change. Smile However I will do it this way… I will total up the whole amount and get a tip amount on that. Then give half of that amount now and the rest half of it at the actual day. (Or maybe like 1/3rd now, 2/3rds then).
