(Closed) Do you tip for hair and makeup trial?

Yes.  They earn their living off of tips on practice days as well as wedding days.  I’d say tip extra on practice day if you’d like the real thing to look as good or better.  Or just because paying someone for their work is the right thing to do.

I always tip at a regular trim, and I’d really want to make sure to tip if I plan to use them for my big day (you want them to remember you as a great customer so they do their best on your wedding day). If they do just as well or better than your trial, I’d tip them on the  day of as well.

@Tswife4ever: is there a fee for the trial? i would just do 20% of whatever the cost of the trial is. if it’s included in a package, i would tip based on 1/3 the cost of the package on the day of the trial, and 2/3 the day of, just because the trial usually is a bit less than the day of, so rather than tip on half, i’d do 1/3 for the trial day.

I had my hair trial last weekend and I tipped about 20% of what the total was before she gave us a discount.  I intend to tip her the day of as well.

I tip about 20 percent.
