It depends how long they're playing for and how much you're paying them, but as a musician, I'd say that for a full reception, a tip of $50 per person would be much appreciated and appropriate.

Hi Ladies
A 6 piece wedding band will be playing during our reception. Are we supposed to tip the band at the end of the reception? If so, how much?

posted by LeahB 342 posts 5 months agoI'm doing $20 per person in a small red envelope. There are 8 band members, so along with their meal, it all adds up.
