I trust my FI with all my heart. I go to him first when there's a problem, when I need to vent, he's the first there to hear me out.
Fiance b/c he is my best friend, no joke. My other friends are close but they weren't there for me like my Fiance has been.
I love my BFF, but FI is always the first person I go to for anything.
For me it depends on what it is... my BFF understands me in ways my FI doesn't and vice-versa. In terms of trust... that's hard. I would say equally, since I would trust both of them to do just about anything for me. My BFF and I are also closer than most friends and look at each other as non-romantic life partners
Until recently I would have said my BFF but lately things haven't been great with us, so now i would wholeheartedly go with my fiance.
I just asked my FI. He said he trusts me more. Then I told him why I asked. He said, "I trust you more, but I understand why a guy would say his best friend." ...it's for stupid boy reasons, like if he ever had to "bury a body," he'd go to his best friend because he's pretty sure I'd turn him in to the cops... and he's right. Oh boys... they say the darnedest things!
I don't think I could marry someone if I didn't trust him more than anyone else in the world. Relationship are different, though. It's likely comparing how much love you have for your parents vs. your partner . . . not the easiest thing to do. Maybe your FI spoke without really thinking it through. However, if he really doesn't trust you as much as his best buddy, I'd be concerned.

DH really is my BFF, however, if I had to pick someone else it would be my sister. I trust them both equally, but my sister has been in my life forever. I know I'm going against the grain here, but I trust her more than anyone else in this world. If I had to pick it would be her.
My best friend is amazing and I know I could count on her for anything truly important...but she is flaky sometimes when it comes to simple things. I definitely trust DH more to be reliable, because that's one of the reasons we became so serious to begin with - we knew we could count on each other.
Although honestly, I trust my mom more than both of them. But DH isn't a bad second.
Mr. Cappugcino is both my fiance AND BFF. We started as friends and it evolved into romance. Somewhere in our wedding and reception music, I want to work in the theme from the Golden Girls because we're such great friends :)

FI just told me that he trusts his best friend more than he trusts me because he has known him for longer... Im not quite sure how to feel about that.
