No, unfortunately I’m not supposed to use anything because of health reasons.  Every now and then I use baby powder though.

@Mrsluckywife:  I use Soft&Dri Aluminum free, it comes in two scents Powder Fresh (which is ok) and also Sweet Bliss (which I loooove!)

I used to use Lady Speedstick which I really liked, but the last 6 months or so I wore it my armpits would get kinda sore.. Since I stopped using it, I haven’t had any issues 🙂

Most deodorants are aluminum free, it’s the antiperspirants that usually contain it.

I used to use Tom’s in the Apricot scent (I liked that better than the plain one and lavender which was all I ever saw).  I had heard that aluminium free would help prevent yellowing of shirts.  I used it mostly when I was wearing light colors.  I liked the scent but did have to apply more often.  It was good for oder but won’t stop sweat like antiperspirants you may normally use.

No, but my officemate does.  And for her, it DOES NOT work.  I know that everyone is different but I see her apply it over lunch and she smells.

We work a pretty physical job and a lot of it’s outside so maybe this is an extreme test but she scares me from trying it.  I don’t want to be the woman at the office that stinks.

@AB Bride:  please make sure it’s not talc baby powder, any other type of baby powder is fine healthwise, but talcum powder is very unhealthy for you.

    I make my own:

coconut oil, baking soda, cornstarch or arrowroot, and some essential oils.  I believe cornstarch has an antiperspirant-like effect.

I put it in a baby food jar and just put some on my fingers and put it on.  Some people will put it in an old deodorant container but I think you would have to keep it colder for it to stay solid.  In the winter mine stays very solid but will warm up quite a bit in the summer…all due to the nature of coconut oil.

Works great for me!  And it worked better than the ones you can buy (in my experience).  Cheap enough that it’s worth a try.  I can get away with not wearing deodorant at all in the winter though.

@joya_aspera:  Yeah, it’s a hypoallergenic cornstarch one.  Even then I only use it about 5 times a year.  It causes flareups of skin conditions, so I only use it when being stinky is going to be a bigger issue than having painful, itchy underarms for a few days which isn’t too often, IMO.

I’m totally an all-natural type of person when it comes to my beauty products, but the natural and aluminum-free deodorants do not work for me 🙁 My hubby uses them and never stinks..

They just don’t do the trick for me!

I’m afraid to try them. I knew someone in college who used one (don’t know the brand) and she stunk.
