imsandradee:  Gorgeous ring! I wear my e-ring at the gym. Honestly my gym is kind of a meat market so I feel like it helps me avoid getting hit on. Sometimes I still get looks, but I see them glance at the ring and retreat, I love it- it’s like a personal force field.

imsandradee:  Yep.  But my ring is far less delicate and as intricate as yours.  I also don’t do anything crazy at the gym to warrant to take it off.  I also like wearing it because I get hit on at the gym. And wearing my ring helps to diffuse it.

imsandradee: …Lol. I don’t wear mine when exercising and housework etc. I get worried about damaging them somehow.

swonderful:  Yep, this! I don’t go to the gym often (I usually just go on walks around my neighborhood), but I wouldn’t be caught dead there without a ring. Before we were engaged, I actually wore a fake one there – otherwise, I’d get hit on constantly. With the ring, it’s like on Star Trek: “Shields up!”

imsandradee:  I do CrossFit, and realized quickly into my first workout post-engagement that my ring really got in the way, so I take it off.

No way! I would be afraid of damaging it, it getting in the way when trying to lift, or just getting gross and covered with sweat/gym germs. There’s no way I could comfortably lift when wearing any kind of jewelry (except maybe earrings, but even then it would probably bug me).

imsandradee:  I always wear my ring at the gym. The longer it’s off my finger, the more chances for it to get lost! Also, I really wouldn’t want my FI to take his off at the gym (once we’re married) unless it was seriously getting in his way, so I try to extend the same courtesy. Not sure if he really cares or not lol.

I wear mine at the gym but i don’t lift heavy weights or anything like that. I go on the way home from work and don’t really feel comfortable leaving it in the car or locked in the locker room. It’s also just a solitaire on a plain band so i’m not worried about it getting damaged. Plus the lights in there really make it sparkle!!!

I don’t wear mine at the gym. I work out with my FI, so getting hit on isn’t really an issue. Plus, I wear gloves when I lift and the ring wouldn’t really fit comfortably under the gloves.

imsandradee:  I never wear my ring to the gym. I suppose it would be fine to wear it if you are just going to stretch or to walk on the treadmill. I take mine off because it would be uncomfortable/interfere with my workouts and I don’t want to risk damaging it. I would strongly recommend against wearing any rings if you are lifting. I did crossfit for awhile, and there was a photo circulating of a gruesome finger injury caused by wearing a ring while lifting.

WestCoastV:  I was going to mention that finger picture too! So horrible and totally not worth it! It’s fine to wear a ring on the elliptical if that’s all you’re doing, but for lifting, no way!

imsandradee:  I take off my jewelry to go swimming because I lost a diamond stud earring in the pool when I was in high school. Unfortunately I didn’t notice until the next morning, and the next day when my mom and I searched the pool, we couldn’t find it. Additionally, I also found out the hard way that chlorine in a pool can wear down gold by having a gold chain on a necklace wear down because I had been wearing it in the pool. Oops.

Swimming is about the only thing I go to the gym for, so I guess I take all jewelry off before going to the gym. Otherwise I go for walks or jogs outside and then I don’t take my jewelry off unless I’m wearing dangly earrings.
