I only take my ring off when I shower because I use a lot of goopy hair products with my curly hair.  I'm going to a pool party this afternoon, and I always wear my ring out of the house, but I'm afraid to wear it swimming.  It's a tad big, and I'm afraid it might slide off.  I suppose better safe than sorry, and leave it at home, right?

I would leave it at home unless you have a pocket or something you can put it in.  I wouldn't wear my ring in chlorine, since the chemicals aren't good for the setting.

I use to wear mine when I first got engaged because I didn't want to ever take it off.  However, it is bad for your ring.  My ring never came close to coming off.  The chemicals don't mix well with cholorine  though

I would wear it. I know they say that chlorine isn't good for your rings, but they aren't as delicate as people think, unless of course your ring has a stone like an opal or pearl.

Oh I also wanted to add that I don't think it is a big deal to wear it if it is just once in awhile.  I just wouldn't wear it if you are going every day

Chlorine will cause pitting on the surface of gold or white gold.  Overtime you will cause damage to the metal in your ring.  If yours is a platinum setting you should be ok.

I take mine off often.  I don't wear it while cooking or cleaning, sometimes take it off before I go to the gym, and always take it off before swimming.

If you are worried about it coming off, you might find yourself worrying about it so much that you don't have fun.  But, if you think you'll mostly be lounging by the pool with a cold drink and laughing with friends, then there's probably no danger in wearing it.

I wear mine in the pool. It's a family diamond and my mil had it on before I got it, so I asked her what she did and she always wore them, so I figured it would be ok for me to also. Plus, usually I have it on me and would forget to keep it at home, so I feel like I'd rather have it on me than in my purse. And it's platinum so there's been no harm done.

If it's a little big, I would leave it home though. The damage that could be caused by chlorine is insignificant compared to losing it.

I do, but my rings are platinum. My jeweler said they should be fine, and it's not like I swim daily.

I wear mine to the pool (and the beach, gasp!) but it's on there snug. My husband's ring, however, is slightly large, and he threw it across the pool on our honeymoon playing water volleyball. He's not allowed to wear his to the pool anymore.

I wouldn't wear into the pool ... just in case. If you want to wear it to the party (to show off to people who haven't seen it yet :), then maybe take a little pouch with you and store it in your purse.

I take my ring off all the time. I don't shower, swim, sleep, cook, clean or go to the gym in it. It's still fairly new, so maybe that's why I am so cautious, but I'm scared its going to snag on something or fall off in water.

To the beach or the pool, I always take mine off.  The ring is a little loose and I'd be afraid of it coming off when getting hit by a wave or just normal swimming.

Water can cause shrinkage, so if it's a tad big I definitely wouldn't wear it.

There is a big sign at the jewelry store not to wear your ring in apool so i vote to leave it at home.

I recently got engaged and have been looking high and low for some solution to keeping my ring safe while swimming... I figured I'd share this with y'all... www.ringwrapper.com

It takes about a day to get used to but I don't even know I'm wearing it anymore.

I don't wear mine swimming because the chlorine react with the white gold. If you have platinum you are fine, but with white gold it turns super fast. I teach swim lessons 4 evenings a week and I take my rings off. The chlorine is just so bad for it.

When I swim laps I take it off, but if I'm just visiting friends or whatever, I leave it on.
