I am only wearing my veil to the ceremony. I think it would get in the way at the reception, but I have a tiara too which will add something interesting. I am keeping my hair the same though.

I plan to wear a cathedral veil for the ceremony and then a bird cage for the reception

The only thing I’m worried about is if I remove it then it might mess up my hair. I’m having mine attached low to the back of my head so I don’t think it will get in the way, so I think I’ll just leave it. I think with anything longer than fingertip or things with lots of layers that are attached high up it’s better to remove it.

Mine is elbow length. I’ll probably wear it through the reception because (a) don’t want to mess up my hair, but more importantly (b) to please my mom. She was REALLY about me wearing the veil the whole time. πŸ˜›

@kala_way: You can work our with your hairdresser a way to remove it without damagine your hair. It is pretty common for brides to remove their veil after the wedding.

I wore a birdcage for both – it was in front of my face, over one eye, for the ceremony, and for the reception I pushed it away from my face, and out of my eyes. Here is a before & after.

I also think Birdcage veils are adorable, but don’t think I can pull one off myself. One my friends wore her veil all night, and another didn’t. I think its just a matter of preference πŸ™‚

I think I’ll probably wear it the whole time as it’s only elbow length and I love how it looks with my dress. πŸ™‚ I could change my mind, but if I do I’ll just take it out. Maybe add a flower or something.

I wore my veil all throughout my ceremony, afterwards for pictures and then for the first part of our reception (first dance, father/daughter, etc) up until we ate dinner. Then I had one of my bridesmaids take it off during dinner and I just kept in my hair flower.
