@linnylou_88:  I have never in 5 years worn my wedding band alone.  I always wear them together and I like it that way!

I wear my wedding band alone most of the time. It’s a plain band so I love that I don’t have to worry about getting it dirty when I’m baking bread or scratching it when I’m working with my hands.

Nope. I never wear just a band. I either wear my ering+2 bands, or a stand in set.

@linnylou_88:  it wasn’t at first. like any waiting bee, i said that i wanted a solitaire and i didn’t care about the band. well i got my dream engagement ring and FI took the band thing so literally that he got me a plain white gold band to match. it looks beautiful and classic as a set but i hate the band on its own. he knows this and we’re definitely going to shop around for a nicer band after the wedding.

I’m not married yet but it is important to me that my wedding band looks great on its own. I’m not sure I would wear it by itself because my engagement ring isn’t super high or anything so I should be able to wear it at all times, but it would be nice to have the option. I’m going with a custom made platinum pave band.

There are lots of times when I don’t wear my e-ring (especially for work) so I wanted to get a wedding band I could wear alone, because I plan to keep it on at all times and just take my e-ring on and off as needed.  It’s a fairly thin band to fit beside my halo e-ring, and I love the look of it both alone and with my other ring.

I wear my wedding band alone. There is no reason to wear your engagement ring all the time.

I definately wanted a band that looked good on it’s own because there are times that I do wear just the band when doing certain activities such as gardening, hiking, camping, scuba, etc. (My first marriage, I  did have a set where the e ring was soldered to the band which was a ring guard and I always regretted that.) My band is sacred to me and reminds me of our love and commitment even when I cannot wear my e ring  🙂

@LilLis:  +1 I have a gorgeous solitaire, but wanted to be able to just wear the band (2mm yg plain) alone if we’re outside, travelling working with my hands or it just needs to be safe 🙂

I wear my band alone nearly everyday.  It’s just more practical at work for me (I am constantly hand washing).

I plan to, some of the time, and nothing looks more wedding-y to my eye than the traditional solid gold band. I can hardly wait!

To me, the wedding band isn’t about fashion, but about symbolism (which means much more to me). However, a simple band of gold is a timeless beauty as well.
