Spin off from an old thread. Thought I’d revive it! Do your rings look anything like your family members rings?
My grandmothers ring looks alot like this: 3/4 center 1ct tcw
My mothers rings: 2.5 tcw
My sisters ring:
Finally my set:
The only simularity I can see is the fact we all have “pointy” stones somewhere in our rings nd all have a mixture of different shapes of stones
What about you Bee’s? Did your mothers/grandmothers/sisters ring influence your pick at all? Eaither way, I wanna see! More ring porn the better 🙂

My mom’s ring looks like this
My grandmother’s ring looks kinda like this one, but it has polk-a-dotted bezel set side stones if that makes sense.
This is my ring
The only similarity is the side profile of my mom’s ring and my ring

Yes and No. My moms ring is a thick gold band. They didn’t have any money so that was her engagement and wedding ring. She’s never seem bothered by it. DH got me a diamond engagement ring and I love it but I also wanted a gold band- no diamonds no design, completely plain. I love my band and would probably wear it more often by itself if people didby always feel the need to comment. So my mom and i have the same bands.

I never paid attention until after I received my ring but no. I’m the only round solitaire in the bunch. All of my aunts, my grandmother, and even amongst my older sorority sisters all have marquise cut solitaires or marquise center stones.
My mom has a massive cluster ring and a beautiful 5 stone diamond ring that I try on every time I see her lol
Every other woman I’m close to:
(example. not someone’s actual ring)
And I noticed that my stone is much larger even though they have all been married for a really long time. Just an observation.

My grandmothers no longer have their rings. One was stolen and one was lost. My mother’s ring looks something like this:
And she has a plain, white gold band to go with it.
My set looks like this:
My ring is a violet sapphire with diamonds and wedding band is all diamonds.

All of the women in my family (and me) have yellow gold bands with a solitaire. Never thought about it before! Weird.

None of my parents or grandparents has ever had rings. My siblings are not married (and probably never will be) so…
I actually never thought about it!

yep!! I love my moms and wanted one that reminded me of hers, simple round solitare white gold, 🙂 you should add a poll!

My mom and I both have three main stones. I always wanted one similar to hers!

I have a cushion cut solitaire with a platinum band and my brother’s fiance has a round solitaire with a white gold band so they are pretty similari, they are also from the same store. My FSIL has a round solitaire with a yellow and white gold band but the band makes it look nothing like mine. My mom doesn’t wear an engagement ring, and my FMIL has a yellow gold three stone ring. As far as my family goes that’s it!

Nope, my mom’s ring looks like this:
And my ring is this:

Both of my grandmothers have yellow gold round solitaires. So do I. My mom’s ring is platinum, oval diamond with teardrop rubies. My SIL has a heart-shaped diamond set in white gold. And my other SIL has a platinum bezel-set round diamond.

My mom’s ring and mine are both done in white gold, but that’s about where the similarities end. Mine is a princess cut diamond with smaller ones around, while my mom’s is just a single solitare. My grandma’s looked yellow gold, but I don’t think it was actual yellow gold, and my sister’s is yellow gold with a huge diamond that is oval shaped. I have never seen my dad’s mom wear a wedding ring, and I’m really not sure if she has one.

Yes… similar size feature diamond, 18k yellow gold.
But my family tend to go for more classic styles (which I love and almost went for too) whereas mine is more of an arty setting that FI came up with.
