So after talking with a DoC/planner on the phone, I realized that she is the wife of one of my “employees.” (I use this word loosely b/c I am a university department chair and I hire her husband occasionally to teach courses in my department).
Would this be an issue I need to be wary of in hiring her? Maybe my brain is fried, I can’t seem to think this one through.
Any input is helpful, thanks.

No, I don’t see any issues. I’d be up front with her, though, and make sure she’s aware that you’ve hired her husband before (and presumably would again).

i agree with pp, just be upfront about your situation with her and keep your relationship with her professional and 100% wedding and same with her husband. i don’t think it’d be much of a problem.

Can you ask your HR folks? I’m sure there’s someone whose job it is to think through that kind of thing for you!

@abbie017: @omglauren: Thanks for the validation. I didn’t think there would be an issue, but it’s always nice to get an outsider’s view.
On the upside, she’s been to one of my parties/fundraisers before (I didn’t realize this when I contacted her), so she is aware of my style.
