Take a look at the vendor reviews section at projectwedding.com for ideas. Most should be willing (at least they say they are) to work with your budget.
We just hired Kristeen LaBrot. Her prices are super reasonable and she's really nice to boot. My wedding is not until next year, but so far she's been great at responding to emails, recommending vendors, and sending me spreadsheets to get organized.

i'm considering hiring a doc for my wedding so that i can enjoy the day more.
i don't have a big budget for it but i also won't have a lot for the doc to do, just want to have a peace of mind.
can anyone recommend a good but yet inexpensive doc?
