You need to do what makes you feel comfortable. I have heard of physicians like your first one however it wouldn't be for me. I would feel the same as you. I will tell you that when were TTC I had to have a back up OB bc my OB was too far to travel for routine pregnancy check ups and she delivers at Ohio State which I detest as a hospital. Not to mention an hour drive. So the OB I had just in case was based off both reference and delivering at the hospital I wanted bc that was very important to me. You need to be comfortable with not only the physician but the hospital too. I'm sure there are other OBs at there that will deliver at the hospital you prefer.
My doctor wouldn't even see me until 8w and then I had an u/s at 12w so personally none of this sounds weird. If it's not for you though it's always an option to seek care elsewhere.
I think it is really common to not be seen until the end of the 1st trimester. Most people only have bloodwork and early ultrasounds if there were conception issues, dating issues, or threatened miscarriage. If you have a normal pregnancy, then there is really no reason to have much early testing.

I had my first appointment on Wednesday and I thought I would be going in and taking blood, getting medical history and a scan. I was only asked my medically history and they got my insurance info so we know what we have to pay everytime we go see them. She then scheduled my next appointment for when I am 11 weeks.
Feeling kind of neglected and like another money maker for them I scheduled an appointment at another Dr. They scheduled me as soon as I could get in and said there would be a scan and blood tests etc. Do you think I should see someone else just in case? This is my first pregnancy so I am of course nervous but it would be nice to have confirmation of my pregnancy (other than a HPT). There is one downfall about Dr. #2, I would be delivering at a different, less accredited hospital.
