Anyone else excited about the upcoming 50th anniversary special? Anyone else going to see it in the movie theaters?
I’ve had to catch up on the 2nd half of the 7 season so I’ve been watchingone episode every night for the past week or so. I have to say I <3 Matt Smith. I think about him more than a 40-something married woman really should think about him LOL
PS-Make sure you watch the min-webisode that has the 8th Doctor. So good and great lead into Saturday’s special.

Is that on this sat? I have to order BBC America right away if it is. OMG! So stoked!

I loved David Tennant but Matt Smith really grew on me as well. Out of the old ones, probably Tom Baker!

@tksjewelry: Friday night they are showing “An Adventure in Space and Time”. It’s a movie about getting Doctor Who on the air originally. It has the actor from the Red Wedding on Game on Thrones playing William Hartnell.
Then on Saturday, being broadcast at the same time worldwide the 50th anniversary episode will be shown. So it will be shown at 2:50 pm EST and rebroadcast at 7pm EST. Also, if you cant watch it on TV, on Monday they will be showing it at movie theaters (some in 3D) for just one day.
They are also doing a marathon this week if you need to catch up on past episodes (def want to watch part 2 of Season 7).
Make sure you watch this miniwebisode

@KoiKove: thanks! When we switched cable providers I lost BBC, sucks, but the lady was super nice when we ordered and gave me a credit so I could order the tier that it’s on for a month. Thank goodness she’s a huge fan too. I thought it was going to be on in December, thanks for posting this I would have missed it and been totally disappointed.
Oh, my doctor was Tom Baker but I also just adore David Tennant.

@tksjewelry: I’m assuming you havent seen that 7th season yet. Make sure to DVR and watch the episodes with the new companion Clara. She was on 2 episodes before she officially became a companion– Asylum of the Daleks (being shown on BBCAmerica on Sat 1am EST) and The Snowmen (which doesnt seem to be shown again). Then she becomes the official companion on Season7 ep6 (6:30am-1:30pm Sat).

I just started getting into Dr. Who. I finished the first season with Christopher Eccleston this week. I love it so far!

@KoiKove: Two coworkers and I are going to see it in theatres, but not until Monday! We’re desperately staving off the spoilers hahah 🙂

They’ve put out another pre-quel mini episode. Def want to see the one I’ve posted above with the 8th Doctor. The one I’m putting below is interesting but not critical to see…

So excited for this, but also sad because it means we’re nearly done with Smith episodes. Typically emotional roller coaster of being a Who fan 🙂
We’re going to see it in theaters in 3D on Monday, because well if my theater is gonna show it in 3D why not go? But that means I basically can’t go on the internet from the time it air until I see it, so many spoilers!

@KoiKove: I’m super excited! unfortunately we don’t have cable any more. But I imagine we’ll be able to find it streaming somewhere on Sunday!

@pineapplez17: Why dont you see it in the movie theaters on Monday?
@Kit_Kath: and @MrsRevolutionize: I had to make the hard choice–see it twice (Sat on TV and Mon at the theater) or just once (at the theater). I decided I just couldnt wait and will watch it twice. Plus, I sometimes find the English accent hard to understand (plus in movie theaters you never know if they are going to pump the bass up so high that it’s even harder to hear the dialog), so watching at home with close captioning will ensure that I get ever line uttered.
@Kit_Kath: So sad that there are only 2 more episodes with Matt Smith. DH is starting to get a bit jealous of my major crush and slight obsession LOL
Here is a better link for the Paul McGann (8th Doctor) mini-webisode. It also explains all the details and how it related to the Doctor universe.

There’s no poll option for The Doctor!
I couldn’t possibly pick a favourite, so I just say that my favourite Doctor is The Doctor.

I’ve only seen a couple episodes of the newer Doctors, but I have to say… I think Chris Eccleston doesn’t get nearly enough credit.
