So I am really itching for another tattoo but I can’t decide what. Ideally, at some point I’m going to narrow down my Harry Potter tattoo ideas and get one of those, but I have been toying with the idea of getting a Doctor who tattoo because I love the Doctor. I just want a small bow tie tattoo on the inside of my wrist but I can’t decide what color or if I should add “are cool” beneath it. So vote away!

I saw a cool minimalist TARDIS picture on pinterrst that had the words all of time and space, where do you want to start? Under it

I would probably be in the camp of get a meaningful DW quote that you will like and appreciate even when the show is over (or you stop watching).
I love DW (particularly #9 + Rose) and have toyed around with getting a DW tattoo, but realistically I could kick myself several years down the road.
You could always do a humerous “Trust me, I’m a Doctor”
“My experience is that there is, you know, surprisingly, always hope.”
“The universe is big. It’s vast and complicated and ridiculous. And sometimes—very rarely—impossible things just happen and we call them miracles.”

I am also a fan of Doctor Who, but if you get a bow tie, that’s really only giving you a reference to 11, and his time will be up at the end of the year! If he’s your absolute fave, then perhaps go for it. I personally would be more tempted by a quote (which of course, could be tied to a specific doctor).
As with all tattoos, I’d say just sit with the idea you choose for a few months before getting it done. Just to be sure!

I support this in any form 🙂

I wouldn’t get just a blue bowtie; I don’t think it’s quite enough to get the point across. I like the idea of the TARDIS blue bowtie with “are cool,” or just a blue, solid TARDIS.

I like a simple TARDIS design. I’ve thought about getting a DW tattoo, but with my line of work, it’s unadvisable. Something clean and simple. I’ve even thought something Gallifreyan.

omg i would so go for the red bow tie and ‘are cool’ underneath it.
a tardis blue bow tie doesn’t mean anything…. and i like the subtleness of the bow tie rather than a tardis or something.
@ScootersGal: YES! or something Gallifreyan. that would be mega. i think there are websites that translate stuff into Gallifreyan, too.
I’d be so tempted to get a jammy dodger, but that’s just me 😉
(I’d just like to add that I think all eleven’s references are just amazing).

I think there are lots of awesome options for a Doctor Who tattoo — but personally I wouldn’t go for a bow tie. As a Whovian, I honestly don’t think I’d recognize that right off the bat, and as @chancehere said, it really ties you to number 11, super-specifically to him. With a quick Google search for Doctor Who tattoos, I see a lot of “Allons-y” and “Bad Wolf” tattoos — and don’t those seem dated now? Just my two cents…
