- Wedding: September 2013
We have our hearts set on tieing the knot in our first vacation spot but we are thinking that most of our family wouldn’t be thrilled about a 5 hour drive to our favorite city for our wedding so we are throwing around the idea of having just our parents and siblings at our actual wedding. We then would like to host a casual reception the following weekend with a grill out and outside games at a park by the lake where people won’t have to drive far and can just relax and celebrate with us. We plan on inviting the rest of our HUGE families, my fiance’s fellow firefighters, and our friends and co-workers. Does this seem cheesy since 5 hours away isn’t really a typical destination like another state or country? We don’t want people to feel like they aren’t important enough to be invited to the wedding, but we also understand that 5 hours is a really long drive and many people wouldn’t want to make that drive, plus fork out for a hotel room during peak season in a tourist city. Advice PLEASE!
