I fear my ring is too big. It’s a 4.5 and never falls off (knuckle holds it in) but it’s still constantly maneuvering up to my knuckle and spinning! I’ve considered getting it resized but I’ve heard that a wedding band will make it tighter…Is this true? What’s your experience?
Doesnt a weduring band go under the Engagenent ring? How would this make it tigher? Do I order if the same size as the e-ring? Help!!! I clearly have no idea how this works!

My ring was like that when I got it. The jeweler said that a wedding band would make it seem tighter because then the width would be wider… I’m not married yet and don’t have a band.
Since the loosness really bothered me I got some medium sizing beads put in the band and that seems to have helped a lot! It hardly ever spins now, just when I’m really cold. 🙂 Maybe you could try that?

It typically goes under the engagement ring and it will make it slightly tigether, but not enough to stop sliding up and down your finger. At leats not in my case.

The added band will make it a little more snug, you’ll still probably decide to resize your ring down smaller though.
Both rings should be the same size.

My wedding band and engagement ring are both size 6 and are soldered together. They definitely fit tighter than any other size 6 rings I own, because of the width of the one giant ring instead of two small ones.

@tentwelvethirteen: Great idea for a temporary fix until the OP can see what it’s like to wear both rings!

@aprilbride26: my wedding band definitely makes it way tighter! i can’t pull them off my finger together, actually – i have to take my e-ring off first, then the band. i think it works that way because it is displacing more of the flesh on your finger to either side of your set – does that make sense? so it makes the ridge of flesh on either side of your fingers a teensy bit more pronounced. i have skinny fingers, so i’m not just talking about people with fleshy fingers!
what a weird post. i’m weird.

In my experience, the wider the band(s), the tighter it feels.

@aprilbride26: Yes, the wider the ring, the tighter it feels. When you add an e-ring you will be making the whole set wider.

I suggest size beads; easy to put in and remove without disrupting the integrity of the ring.
