So we have been planning our wedding for a year now, In the begining, we honestly didnt put too much thought into it, Kinda just assumed we had to have a big wedding I guess?
My fiances sister had a big wedding and all his family/friends always have.
Growing up I had never dreamed of a big wedding, never really dreamed of one at all 😛 I honestly always thought I would just go to vegas. lol. Ive never been to a big wedding for any of my family, its always been a backyard wedding and everybody brings a dish of food and have a big picnic/party type of thing :p
But anyway, We pretty much started the wedding planning right away, and reserved our dates for venues.
And it was like a snowball effect after that, I feel like we are spending to much money for one day, but its too late to change it now.
Im a kinda shy person, and I dont like when the attenchin is all on “me”
And I somehow feel very selfish :/ FYI, Its probably a budjet wedding compared to some, were spending around $10,000 for wedding/honeymoon.
But still, I wish I could go back in time and just have a cute, stress free, small wedding with my closest family and friends and not make a big deal of it, I dont really wanna be in the spotlight!!
Ugh, Just a vent.
Was wandering if any other bee’s get this feeling and if you did have a big wedding was it worth it in the end?

Maybe this was the wrong thing to post on a wedding forum? lol

We are having a relatively small wedding 50-60 people and I wish it could be smaller. 30 people would be ideal for me.

Here! I wish it was smaller but it really snowballed. We’re also spending about $10,000. It’s weird but I’m hoping people RSVP “no.”

We started at 150 guests but I’ve slowly been cutting it down to 120ish. I’d give anything to have 50 people or less. Maybe it’s because I’m planning this in California, but it’s approaching 15k with seriously the barest essentials and using dirt cheap friendors. 🙁

@alyssars1: I HEAR YOU! We ARE having a small wedding with our cloesest friends and family and its STILL 72 people! We’re spending a little over 6k and while we did splurge on the food and dessert, we know we can so we did, for that day. I get really nervous thinking about going down the eisle, but
I wish we could just do 30 people, at the beach somewhere in NC with some of those amazing pictures I see on pinterest…. but it doesn’t really matter. For all that we’re putting into it I get to be his wife, and that really is all I want. So bring on the stress and crazy budget frenzies, at the end of the day I get what I really want. 🙂
So just even really think about it, just smile and think about everyday after.
Best of luck to you!
