My diamond is GIA triple X rated but looks grey in certain lightings (starbucks being one of them), I kind of like it since it is still super sparkley but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this type of phenomenon? Here are two different lightings so you can see the difference:

Mine does look grey in certain lighting, but it also still sparkles! (Mine is Amora Moissanite, so obviously it’s a different stone…but I’ve heard they also have the grey effect).
I actually love the way it looks when it’s grey-it’s so cool!! 🙂 And your ring is GORGEOUS!

@StefLovesJamie: thank you! Yea I am starting to appreciate the effect more, I never really paid so much attention to diamonds as I have since I received my ring so I am wondering if it is more common than I realize

i’ve never seen the greyness, but i will look at my diamond more closely now and see if it notice it in different lights.

Mine does this as well. I’ll have to see if I can get a picture!

Mine are tiny stones compared to yours (0.2 and 0.33), but they look greyish near the middle in certain lights. I always assumed it was just a reflection of the white gold setting.

Mine does it too in certain lighting.

I don’t have a diamond center stone, but I think that phenomenon is cool!
Edit: Oh, and btw your ring is beautiful.

My diamond used to go dark in some lighting (like my bathroom). Gorgeous ring!!!

I’ve never noticed (maybe I just don’t pay enough attention?) but I actually think the gray looks beautiful!

@takemyhand: good point. I also considered that it might be the metal from the setting reflecting into it
@mylittleviolett: thank you!
@KatyElle: Yes, it does it seems to do it under spot/flourescent lighting and thank you!
@Jijitattoo: thank you!
At first I thought something was wrong with the stone, so I am glad to hear other people have had similar experiences, also, if anyone else has photo’s please share!

Thats the coolest thing ever I wish my diamond did that !!! It deff has to be the flouressence some diamonds are really intense and some don’t react at all some diamonds also glow blueish in black light
