Our is about the same as Jw’s. Depends on what channels/internet speed/equipment are included, etc. We have HD, DVR, a couple of movie channels. We also had a close friend who works at Comcast set us up.

we have it but it’s because we don’t have a choice. basic cable (like, the 80 channel kind that does not have HBO) is free in our building. I have to say I wouldn’t pay for it if it wasn’t free, but we’re more of a netflix / amazon prime kind of household.

as for the internet, it’s annoying. we just upgraded to a higher speed package and it is not better at all. it totally depends on how many people in your neighborhood are using it at the same time.  :/

one good bonus though: comcast just signed a deal with netflix so that you can get more consistent streaming w/ fewer interruptions. yay for small things.

We have the basic TV + Internet package. The introductory rate that we got is $62/month for the first year. I’m not sure how much it goes up once the year ends, but we plan on calling them to tell them we have to cancel if the price goes up. I’ve heard that they will extend the trial price if you do that.

DH pays the cable but I know we have the preferred tier with internet and pay for 1 regular box and 1 HD box and it is less than 100/month

I pay around that – I think it’s about $85 with tasxes and fees. I have one DVR(so HD on that too) on it and then my second TV just has normal cable.

We only wanted internet, but the best price was 25 mbps internet bundled with basic TV, HBO, and Streampix. It’s standard definition and only 20 channels, but all of the On-Demand stuff means there is plenty to watch. Of course, we weren’t planning on having TV at all. It’s only 39.99 per month for the first year.

@MsW-to-MrsM:  Hi-speed internet (and tv) for $40?  Wow, I’m envious!  We have comcast internet, but it’s $84 a month.

@Kimberley25:  yup! It was a new customer offer. I’m sure it’ll go up, but it’s a great deal for 12 months.
