$250 is a standard price, a lot of stores are doing bundle packages for the holidays that include a few games as well.
Anything cheaper than that will most likely be refurbished.
Just a tip, always make sure to check the specs on the bundled deals. They may bundle a deal with several games, a kinect, etc, but the hard drive will often only be about 4 to 8 gigs, and by the time you buy a HD with enough space to actually do anything, you would have spent much more than necessary.
Here's the bundle at GameStop - it includes the 250GB hard drive, controller, and 2 games - alright I'm not sure if those are the types of games your FI is into. http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/consoles/xbox-360-250gb-holiday-bundle/104892
You can find similar packages at most gaming/big box stores.
@Stace126: If he has an xbox live subscription, buy it from Amazon and get the digital entertainment deal. It comes with 3 months of xbox live gold, some digital arcade games and $10 in amazon instant videos. Plus, depending on where you live-no sales tax!

"Does anybody know anything about Xbox 360???" -- just that it's the other woman in my marriage.
@Daisy Mae: Oh no!! Sometimes I feel like this too, but luckily that's only when a new game comes out.
Ugh, men sometimes!!!

My fiance's Xbox is on the verge of a total meltdown, so I want to surprise him and get him a new one for his birthday (which is conveniently 2 weeks before Christmas).
His friend told me to get the Xbox 360 with 250G hard drive and everywhere I look I'm seeing them priced as a "deal" or sale at $249.99.
Does that sound right to you? I don't know if that's seriously a good deal or not. Never bought/owned a video game or game consol in my life. lol.
Or does anyone know what that website is where they compare the prices of the product you're looking for at a bunch of nearby stores?
Or where I can get a coupon without being a "member" or having a card?
I'm like the worst shopper ever. I don't get all caught up in coupons and discounts and memberships and crap. But this is obviously expensive and I want to make sure I'm getting a good deal.
Thanks!
