    It doesn’t depress me, I’m just not that interested. I’ve picked the ring. I really don’t care about a big proposal (been there, got the tshirt). I honestly hope he just rolls over in bed Christmas Eve and asks if I want to open my present early. I’m so happy for the people in those stories but I’m not interested. Then again I can’t stand romantic comedies and read a lot of true crime novels so maybe it’s just a personality thing.

    I love reading proposal stories or watching videos, I have for years… I think it’s a sweet moment and love hearing about it. Honestly, I love reading anything about people who are madly in love! What can I say, I’m a hopeless romantic 🙂

    @daffodil89:

    I do it too! 🙂

    I like seeing all the shiny.

    Also the proposal stories can be pretty romantic too.

    @Sassyfras27:  I’m laughing at myself. You say you love reading about being in love and just a post up I had basically said that I like reading about dead people. Sounds bad in those terms!  But I’ve been divorced so maybe passionate love and just wanting to strangle your ex husband is all confused in my mind. 😉

    @daffodil89:  I said sometimes!  I have days where I’m OBSESSED with the ring and proposal boards.

    Then I have days that I cannot get enough of the RECAPS board.

    Then I have other days where I love the nesting boards–Cooking and Pets..I live with my SO, cook most of our meals and we have two dogs Smile

    There’s enough on this website that I never get board!!!

    @daffodil89:  I’m obsessed with jewelry, all jewelry, so i am always looking just to see the rings. I am truly happy for anyone getting engaged. Maybe because I haven’t been waiting long, but I don’t think about waiting or talk about it much at all. I don’t want anyone to pity me, or think I am ‘waiting’ or ‘dying’ to be engaged because I am not.  I just hate calling him my boyfriend, that’s the only thing, i wish there was another name for a guy you live with LOL. I know it will happen & he’s worth waiting for.

    Actually a friend of mine is very very impatiently waiting, she badgers her boyfriend and is relentless. They’re been together 4 years I think. Anyway, he called me to ask advice on the proposal and time and ring (he went in her phone to get my number, I thought it was so sweet!!) but I am TRULY just so happy for her! I am not envious or analyzing my relationship because of it, when it’s my time it will be my time, and for now, I have a group of amazing ladies I found to chat with which I would have never found if I wasn’t ‘waiting’!

    @SomedaymrsWDS:  LOL. If it makes you feel better, one of the earliest things my SO and I bonded over was that we both find it fascinating to read about serial killers. You know what they say, hate is closer to love than indifference! 😉

    I don’t do it, but not because it depresses me. I just…have no interest in it!

    @daffodil89:  TOTALLY agree, that’s the only thing that ‘zings’ me a little. In general I never care what anyone thinks, but I do hate that ‘to other people’ we’re not that serious, when the reality is we both made life altering, lifelong affecting decisions to be together already, but without being married other’s don’t realize it.

    Just say to yourself “I know it will happen. He’s worth waiting for. When it’s my time, it’s my time. And on our 25th anniversary, this won’t seem important”
