Yep!!  When I’m away, I talk to her on the phone too.  I talk to our dog all the time, and have thoughts for her “she loves the ocean!”. I also refer to myself as Mommy when I talk to her, and my FI as Daddy.

Cupcakenurse:  Yes I do. And she’s super smart. She would have been great for those kids that practice reading to dogs. She listens intently, cocks head at questions- whole deal.

oh gosh we are super crazy- our dog has a voice! She’s a bit of a whiner, so her voice in our heads started off as Mary Tyler Moore in the Dick Van Dyke show “ooohhh Rob… people are coming over and I have nothing to fix for them…” and now it’s evolved into more of a Madaline Kahn from Clue voice “Flames… flames… from the side of my face…” because we always assume that shes annoyed with us and our antics.

So.. yeah… we talk for her all the time… its totally coo coo

Yes!

Our dog is involved in pretty much every conversation. Mostly because she salks up and shoves her face in when we’re talking.

My SO actually taught her “speak” now, so she barks on demand. She does chatter too.

so much fur baby love

Yeah I talk to my dogs all the time, they’re excellent listeners! At least until they get distracted and start scratching or licking themselves lol.

Ha! I do this too, with my cat. She’s very chatty, so we’ll often have to-and-fro ‘conversations.’ It’s one of my favourite things about her – she’s very communicative and I find her presence so soothing.

Cupcakenurse:  I always talk to my kitties! I went without a pet for a few months after my kitty boy passed away (He was 17 and had IBD 🙁 ) and it was SOOOOO quiet and sad in the house without him. I then adopted two baby girls from my Aunt’s farm that I love to death!! But even still I miss him, he was just such a neat cat and was a great part of my life for many years! I’m not the only one guilty of talking to the kitties, the boyfriend does it just as much! I could not imagine a house without pets. It wouldn’t feel like home!
