Yeah. I was on the phone with an old friend of mine and I referred to him as FH about four times before my friend stopped me and asked me what I was talking about. I find myself using lots of Bee acronyms in real life.
Like you actually say "eff eye" or do you just say "fee?" Either way, no I dont. But I do still accidentally call him my boyfriend.
I work in a very progressive environment and I never know what to say - I've tried boyfriend, fiancé and partner. I actually find I just call him by his first name and people figure it out on their own. :)
@allyfally: +1, I still say boyfriend (and I call myself his girlfriend) all the time
Haha! I've done that quite a few times when DH was FI. I'd be talking to a real life friend and start saying FI or when I'm speaking to my DH about something I read on the Bee, I'll use the acronyms. He looks at me confused, shakes his head, and says that's another reason why WeddingBee has ruined our life. Lol. Since he's become DH, I haven't used that acronym in real life to anyone.
I call him my boyfriend all the time. I think he gets a little offended. I can't help it. He was my bf for 3 yrs.
I still call my DH "boyfriend" sometimes and have to correct myself. It's still very new! :)
I have before! haha... I call him "fee" sometimes.
I'm more inclined to call my fiance my "boyfriend" in real life. We've been engaged for a little over a month, and I still haven't really gotten used to the word "fiance." (Not to mention the fact that I don't really like the way that word sounds for some reason.)
I also call him by his first name a lot. If I'm talking to people who know us both, this is just much easier.
I have used the Hive acronyms in real life before or when texting someone and see it done all the time! lol
Oh, this is funny that is happens to other people! I recently caught myself trying to say "SO" to someone I was speaking to in real life, and caught myself just in time and said "partner" instead!
haha. I end up calling him boyfriend all the time too - and then I have to go er, I mean fiance. It always seems so weird to me saying "my fiance."
I still say boyfriend. I find 'fiancé' sounds so pretentious and stuffy, lol, so I don't use it. Usually, though I just say his first name, pretty much everyone who knows me knows him or who he is at least so I don't bother with titles, just his name.
I started calling him my SO in life cause I grew to hate the words boyfriend and girlfriend during my wait. Every time I call him my Fiance I get stupid happy
ETA: at the end of my wait, I actually started refering to him as my SPOUSE!
I don't- the only acronym I have caught myself using is lol and I pronounce it like "loll"

"FI" in real life? I've started to call him that in front of coworkers and have had to correct myself so it sounas like "FI...ance". Oh well, I like FI better anyway.
Anyone else do this?
