I've just started on my STD's, that's it. Church and reception booked aswell. I am getting married August next year. So I don't know. Should I laugh, cry or stress, freak out. I don't think so! I do it at my own pace.. no need to feel left behind. Other around this date are like done!.
I'm definitely behind... but I'm slow and I started late. I really had no idea brides planned weddings a year in advance! I have my dress, the venue, and the catering settled... I suppose those are the most important things.
Oh no! I hate to hear when other brides are stressing out! And by the way - we are only 1 day apart in our wedding date! Honestly - I really dont have that many things booked. I've just received my save the dates which are fridge magnets and I'm going to send them out with Engagement Thank You cards and Christmas cards. 3 Birds with one stone! The only drama is we haven't completely finalised our guest list....
I never thought that I would say this but wedding planning is fun! And it should be fun the whole way through! I'm sure things will get a little crazier closer to the date... but I'm doing things as I go - a little bit here and there and having a great time at the same time.
I'd say the thing at the moment that is a bit more difficult is finding bridesmaids dresses... my dress is champagne and I have 7 maids... so I need to find something that matches the colour and also looks good in Mass.

Peony, my date is May 18 and I haven't sent the STD either. We JUST booked the photog so haven't taken engagement photos yet for the STD's. My plan is to send out the STD's by the end of this month or early Jan.
I have venue, church, dress, officiant, photographer, hair girl.
Still need videographer, band, florist, invitations, musicians, DOC, and I need to go out to look at hotels for accomodations.
Thinking of this, plus the DIY projects I want to do, plus moving right after the wedding out of state, plus all of the personal projects I have to do and all of this is maddening! How will I do it?

Yep I am feeling behind. Wedding is March 30, 2012. What I do have: dress (got that today), venue booked, reception hall booked, cake, photographer, and makeup artist booked oh and groom's ring purchased.
What I havent done:
-No save the dates (doesnt make sense to send them now)
-No engagement pictures (taking them Saturday)
-No bridal accessories or shoes
-No favor boxes
-No transportation
-No invitations
-No flowers identified
-No decorations
It's actually quite comical to me how much I have to do. I hope im still laughing in March. I have been a bridesmaid seven times. I lost my thrill/tolerace for weddings a looonnngg time ago. I couldnt revive it for my own if I tried. Ive been engaged since February.
I am a May 5th bride also!! Less than 6 months and I feel like I have done so much but that there is WAY more TO BE DONE!!! I just feel like there isnt even enough time in the day. I was doing well, but now Im going crazy!! lol
I have created several spreadsheets about what needs to get done and when. ESP my DIY projects. I have determined to do those during the winter months. SO hopefully if things go as planned I get alot accomplished in Dec and Jan!!

I try to remind myself of the whole reason this is happening. Bc i love my FI and if everything isnt done. Then it isnt. BUT, i generally cant trick myself into calming down. haha.
I'm so far behind. We're getting married on Feb. 11, 2012 and I have nothing done. We're having a small informal wedding, so far I've:
gotten the FI his suit
made up a menu (I have serious food allergies)
narrowed down the dress search
I'm beginning to panic! Any advice on getting caught up?
We got engaged Feb 2011, waited until October 2011 to set our date/sign a venue contract, and our wedding is June 1st! Who thought that was a good idea?!?! I didn't pre-plan or really do planning of any kind until after October 1st when we booked our venue!
Our venue is a caterer, so our cake, food, and drinks are all included in the package. The food is awesome there, so that was a huge stress relief. Our ceremony is at the reception venue, so that's also great.
I have a dress, my MOH has her dress, mom has a dress. Hair/makeup booked. I am meeting with a DJ on Monday, we are most likely booking him next week. We have our save the dates, am just waiting for the Moo cards to come in with our website on it (although it's not totally done!) to attach to the STD's and then they will be ready to send. I have all the stamps, etc, ready...just need to address the envelopes.
We still need to find someone to marry us (that I'm stressin' over), a photog (even more stressing), block rooms off, pick invitations, pick the dang cake, choose the flowers, omg.
There are several girls at work that got engaged months after me and their weddings are further away than mine and they had everything booked in less than a month. Is there something wrong with me? I just can't seem to get this done!
@explosyv1: We are procrastination twins. We have been engaged since February and have little done! oops. Procrastinators love company :) We can DO this!
Woohoo!! May 5th is such a lovely sounding date as well. AND it was my Nana's wedding date.
Wish I could comfort you guys, but honestly the ride is fun and meant to be a time to share any burdens with family and friends.

I chose other because if anyone else looked at my "to do" list vs. my "already done" list they would likely freak out. I haven't done even close to as much as most other brides on here. However, I'm ok with that! I figure everything will just work itself out. *shrug*
I'm just starting to feel like we don't have enough accomplished.
We leave for our winter jobs on the other side of the country in less than 3 weeks, and we won't be back until May (September wedding).
We had a list of things we wanted accomplished before we left... and we were just talking las Thursday about the things we had planned to do before we go.
:) venue booked (room only).
:) DJ and photographer booked (both pros and close family / friends).
:) STDs sent out last week.
:( Haven't even spoken to officiants yet.
:( Haven't contacted any caterers yet.
:( Haven't decided on a Best Man or groomsmen (our DJ would have been Best man)
With so little time, I hope these can all wait until May.
We're not getting married until April 2013, but we have venues tours next week and have already booked our photographer. So I chose other, because I'm way ahead of the game right now :)
My wdding is in June and I dont have my wedding dress nor do i even have a venue booked... lol.. Me so bad. For some reason im not even stressing bout this wedding-
Definitely feel behind. Got engaged 10/17/11 and getting married 5/5/12. So from the start we already only had 6 1/2 months. Now approaching the new year and about 4 months to go the only thing I've done is booked the venue. I kind of know where everything is that I want just got to go get it. I don't think that will take me long. I think by March I should have everything done. **fingers crosses**
@FutureMrsPatterson: I would suggest creating a document with weekly notes in it. Everyweek I make a new page titled "Notes for the week of December 12-17." As I go through getting things done I strikethrough the note and include any answers to the questions or information highlighted. I found it really helps me keep on track and accomplish things a little at a time. The key is not to add things that can't be done that week. You will be surprised at how much you get done if you sit down for an hour a day. :)
We are now 152 days away from the wedding and I am having a little panic attack at no invitations yet but cake tasting this week, finally get to book the ceremony site next Tuesday, booking the dance floor and trolley this week. Lots getting done!
I am definitely behind in planning! This would probably freak out most but I haven't even did the guest list yet. I keep thinking well its a small wedding and I am sure it will all work out. Hoping that phrase won't bite me in my behind later on. LOL How soon is everyone sending out their invites?
Umm.... We're not even officially engaged and planning for a weddding this May 2012! It's already Janurary 3rd and he's planning the proposal for about two weeks from now. I know, not much of a suprise but I don't mind at all. Lol. It is going to be a small wedding but none the less can't make any officical plans because no one else but he and I know right now!
My date is may 26th. honestly im not even sure if the engagement has registered in my head i have nothing done. I havent even choose a dress. let alone decide where to have it. I guess i waited to long Everywhere is booked. needless to say im STRESSED!
A little of both for me. While everything is lined up and heading towards being done I am super behind in confirming, paying and finishing all those things I worked hard to have fall into place. The holidays killed my momentum!
So behind. I need to book a photographer, book a DJ, finish the invitations (we didn't do save the dates & given the holiday weekend, we're trying to send them out somewhat early), and *get my gals to order their dresses this week.* Once that's done I can start in on a registry, centerpieces, programs, finish my ceremony. Agh!
Hey Treejewel19 we are wedding twins yay!!! I'm incredibly behind too! I'll I have done is buying my dress, veil, making the wedding registry and yup thats it!
I have about 5 months to go and most is done, but I still feel overwhelmed.
I love wedding planning but I can't wait for it to be over!
@future Mrs. Hawkins: Hey! I'm getting married on May 27th in NM too! And I haven't done anything either!! Yay for us! Isn't it horribly stressful and exhausting? Which makes me want to avoid it and then it's more stressful.... Where in NM are you getting married?

I have quite a few things booked, but I also have several more things that I need to book, DIY, or just do. I feel so behind, but when I step back from the planning I think I'm pretty on track. BUT then I remember the STDs... my wedding is in less than 6 months and I still haven't sent out the STD. Eek!
Is anyone else stressing out about this? Feeling behind?
