(Closed) Does anyone else feel tremendously bad about the people they cant invite?

Err, I’m confused why you can’t just invite your bf or bf + his immediate family.  Seems to me that’s a very appropriate line to draw.

Maybe you are holding the wrong type of wedding. Maybe scale back so you can invite more? Or maybe i’m confused

Hmm.  I’m a bit offended on your behalf they wouldn’t make an exception for you, a non-clan member, trying to invite a friend.  I can see how if a family member were to do it, it might be upsetting…but it shouldn’t be for a friend.  I’m sure his mom knows best…but that’s pretty irritating they feel that way!

we had out DOC give us a limit for our venue. FI and i sat down and wrote an a list and a b list and then filled in. he gets half the limit and i got half the limit. when we finished we had a few extra seats and filled in accordingly.

Well i think a more realistic cut-off would be appropriate. Adopted you? Invited. Best friend? Invited. I would forgo center pieces to have my BF there but that’s just me.

Invite the friend anyway and put up with the hurt feelings.  Hold a vow renewal then at the next highland games.
