I don’t remember I single thing my FI said during the proposal. I remember it was 10 to 8pm, he got down on both knees and was holding out and open box and talking. I don’t know what he said I was eyeballing the ring. I never said yes, I took the ring and put it on when he was done. I think I said yes maybe 10 minutes later, after he starting calling his parents to tell them we were engaged LOL. They said “oh so she said yes” (it was a joke we’ve been together for over 10 years) and he realized I never did say yes haha. I wish I remembered what he said!! Does anyone else completely not remember their proposal?

oh! me too!! Right after we got engaged people asked me and I told them what I thought. He said I was wrong, that he said something else.
I do remember the “will you marry me” part but I blanked out on the stuff he said before.

Oh thank goodness, finally an engagement thread I can participate in! I remember the gist of it, but certainly not every single word or exactly what I said.

I remember where we were, what we were wearing, what we had for lunch, but NOTHING about what he said. It makes me mad! I was just so shocked and feeling so awkward (we were in a relatively private part of a public place) I wanted the ring on my finger and to kiss him!
I was almost like a witness to my proposal, I remember thinking “Wow, he’s really proposing. Hes getting on his knee, ok, hes talking, say yes, kiss him, get up, get up”

I am so glad I’m not alone in this! I can remember where we were and what day and time it was, but I can’t remember a thing he said. It is all a blur!
I really want to ask him what he said, but I’m afraid his feelings woudl be hurt. I don’t want him to think I wasn’t paying attention!

@kariface: I agree with the feeling like a witness, when I think about it I even see both us from like another person’s pov not from mine!
I wish it was videorecroded or something so that I could go back and listen to what he said 🙁 But oh well, I still got the ring and the man!

I don’t think he said anything speech-worthy. Well, he may have. I guess I don’t really remember 😀 He had asked me to grab a photo that was on the dry erase board in our hallway for him on my way into the living room, so I pulled it off and he had written this underneath:
And when I turned around he was on his knee and all I remember afterwards was accusing him of messing around. I remember yelling “ARE YOU JUST FUCKING AROUND WITH ME?” And he just laughed at me, then I glomp-hugged him. I didn’t say “yes”, technically, either, haha.

I remember most of the words from the song he wrote me and that once he got down on his Knee I can only remember him starting out with my first, middle and (old) last name. Other than that its all a blur until I told him to stand up so I can kiss him.

@magglemay-2013: Me too! I remember being borderline embarassed (he proposed on a boardwalk, but far away from crowds) that people were going to see us. I remember hearing someone clap when we kissed, and it mortified me! I wish there were pictures/video somewhere! Boo!

My fiance proposed to me in a helicopter… which was super awesome and romantic, but it meant I couldn’t heard a single word he said! I just saw the ring box (well, coupled with the fact that he surprised me with a private helicopter ride with champagne) and assumed I was correctly interpreting his intended message 😛 (Turns out, I was!)

I remember bits and pieces. I was more slightly confused about why he had gotten down on one knee and then when he looked nervous and had some tears on his face it hit me. I don’t remember exactly what was said because I was completely in shock, but I remember him saying how much he loved me.

i remember what time it was approximately (just after 8pm), and what was said 🙂
we argue over where exactly on the beach it was though, we both agree it was in line with the corner of the wall, but he thinks it was closer to the water than i do 😛 we will have to go back there again and figure it out 🙂

FI didn’t really say much. Basically that he loved me and then “Will you marry me?” It was short and sweet. The only part I really remember vividly is when he got down on his knee and actually asked The Question. Those few seconds are burned into my brain forever 🙂

I hardly remember anything!! I told him that about an hour after he proposed and he said he had it written down and folded in his pocket. We had run 6 miles in 100 degrees so it wasn’t in great shape, but I was sooooo glad he had it!! I framed it! He asked if I wanted a new clean copy and I said no I wanted the original 🙂
