My SO comes home tomorrow from five weeks away. I have been busting my butt at the gym while he was gone. I am nearly 100 % sure he will notice. I've also lost nine more pounds since he left. It does help for goal-setting!
I'm not in an LDR, but my sister is and she definitely does this! I think it helps her to have a specific goal in mind.
I totally used to do that. I still do when I'm on a deployment. I alternate between losing weight and losing inches. Inches motivates me more because it's more drastic.
haha, I set diet goals for while we're together: i.e. "Do not gain more than five pounds" because J is an EATTER! When I'm home, I don't graze, snack or eat any junk, really. Lots of rice and veggies. At J's? ice cream, cookies, meat meat meat, sugary cereal... yikes.
lol i used to do this! I had 8 months though between them so i had BIG plans. But also we'd eat out a lot/eat junk and he didn't have super healthy food at his house so it was mostly trying to combat the bad weekend with the two or three months of good!
I totally do this! Having that goal in mind of seeing your SO again is a HUGE motivator. I would go to the extremes though - then get together and we end up pigging out, then I'm depressed when I return home alone and eat more and gain it again...actually once my bf wanted to surprise visit me and I was basically like, not into it, because I felt so fat!! I am trying not to take it to extremes now since we will be living together soon and I need to just learn moderation, modration..:)

I'm trying to lose a little bit of weight before our wedding and I have been setting little goals (e.g., lose 4 lbs before we see each other in 3 weeks). I have found that it may be the one good part of the LDR is that it provides that little bit of motivation to look good each time that I see him :)
Does anyone else do this??
