Since our wedding is about 3 hours from my fiance’s hometown he had several declines, but on my side only like 10 people declined and from my side we invited like 115.

So far we’ve had 13 No’s and that’s been more than expected. We invited 202 and 170 would be great (means we don’t need to rent an extra tent). 95% of our guests are out of town (one third 4 hour drive the rest 12+ hour drive/3+ hour flight) so it’s looking good.

Although no’s are good for numbers they are still hard to receive, esp those unexpected. Luckily they’ve mostly been on FI’s side, he takes them much better than me.

We are getting all YESes and it’s freaking us out a little bit.  We want everyone there, of course, but we invited 20% over our maximum based on the invitation sellers suggestion. Actually, she suggested we send more that than but because our guest list was relatively small and close family/friends, we didn’t feel comfortable.  We sent 53 invitations for a total of 120 guests, expecting we would be able to send more invitations as regrets came in…. as of now we have guests total of 56 YES and zero NO with four weeks left before the RSVP deadline. I’ve already called the venue to verify we can squeeze an extra 14 people if needed!  Can you say stressful.

@Ngolden1: I have had only one no response so far, a spouse to my FIs aunt. That’s it!

It’s crazy but I am not upset or worried.

I’m glad so many are able to come. I am really SUPRISED though because so many people kept telling me to expect 30% declining and that everybody is not going to be able to come.

I only have to follow up with about 20 people that have not returned the rsvps.

Well, I wanted to know this same thing on another board and basically the consensus was to only invite the amount of guests you can afford to host or can fit at your venue.  BUT I am hoping for 150 total so of course I invited over 200 people LOL.  I know some won’t be able to make it and some are just courtesy invites since they are family.

My venue can fit up to 250 people comfortably so that’s not the issue… the issue is cost.  We just don’t want to go over our initial budget for 150 people.

I already have a few RSVP’s from save the dates and only got 2 no’s (the rest are yes from people I expected would come and from 2 people I kinda thought wouldn’t).  LOL.  BUT I don’t count those officially until I send the actual invitations as things can change for people in a few months.  We’ll see.  LOL.  I am working on cutting my guest list though. I think I was able to cut like 10 people.

Our problem is the ceremony!  I was told after we had booked the church (and too late to change!) that the chapel only holds 120-130 guests……we invited 175! I know there are at least 10 who won’t be attending……but I’m SO worried we won’t have space!

Luckily, our reception will be buffet style with PLENTY of food (we’re doing it ourselves so we aren’t paying per person or anything) and space/seating……so maybe more people will show up to that 😉

A girl can dream, right? lol
