I recently just stopped my birth control. And I think I ovulated for first time in 10 years last week…
The thing is, I was soooo… for lack of a better word, horny! So much, that we had unprotected sex while on a trip because we forgot to pack condoms.
This lasted 2 or 3 days.
Do you think that women might naturally feel this way around ovulation time, like a dog in heat? Lol.

Ha, for sure. It’s the hormones. It’s totally normal. Enjoy it, and just plan ahead if you’re not trying for a baby just yet 🙂

@O.My.Heart: You’re right – women naturally feel this way close to their O date! I think it’s so amazing how those things work. Biology at its finest 🙂

Oh yes! When I stopped the pill, I knew when I was ovulating without having to use a calendar… I wanted it *and got it* morning, as soon as we were home from work and then again before going to sleep… and couldn’t stop thinking about it during the day.
Honestly it didn’t feel so good to feel so desperate for sex.. and Darling Husband was kinda tired after 3 days of this.
BUT needless to say we did get pregnant right away with all that unprotected sex during my fertile period, so my horniness didn’t last too long… then after having baby 1 and breastfeeding and not ovulating for a long time… I started feeling it again… and got pregnant again..
I think it’s just how the body works to ensure that our species keeps on living. 🙂

@mommytobee: May I ask if you used the ”withdrawal method” at all and still got pregnant? Or were you two actively trying?

@O.My.Heart: Yes, it’s true. I also saw a documentary about the fact that women looks more attractive at the time of ovulation, so as to attract a mate. It’s nature.

@O.My.Heart: All. The. Time.
It is ridiculous. Like its all I can think about, I’m like a teenage boy, crazy.

Totally. It definitely borders on absurd around ovulation time. I apparently had no idea how much my IUD had killed my drive until it came out and BAM! holy cow. Honestly though, it makes a lot more sense to me now how people end up KU unexpectedly so often. (I don’t think it’s an excuse since it’s SUPEREFFINGEASY to use some form of BC).
However, I think it’s awesome. lol.

Ya. When i’m off the pill and i let my body naturally process things, i’m waaaayyy hornier. Which is why i am going off the pill the second i get married. lol

I wonder if I’m weird, because that’s not the time of the month when I’m friskiest, even though it would be logical to be that way. I find that the “magic time” for me is the few days before my period – I wonder why! As soon as my period’s over my libido is low-ish, and then it kind of builds up to a crescendo right before my next period.

When I got off birth control I was frisky alllll the time….not just around ovulation time. It was pretty fantastic.

As soon as I went off BCP, my “frisky” level shot way up, and it’s definitely even higher around O time. What weirds me out is right around O time, I end up having more rogue sexy thoughts about other men – coworkers, strangers, whatever. I don’t want to cheat on my Darling Husband or anything, it’s just random crap that pops into my head around ovulation.
Damn, hormones, you slutty!

I did when I first stopped BC but I have found it has slowed a lot as the months have passed – so maybe it’s worse when you first stop because your body is more like “whoo hoo this is what O feels like?” Or maybe I’m just too damn tired at the moment to be overly frisky hehe

YES, O time is my craziest time, which is tough because we are TTA and not on BC lol. Pull and pray baby!! But we would be thrilled if we got pregnant, we’re just TTA right now because our wedding is in 9 months!! lol

Yes, and I do think it’s a type of “heat.” Fiance gets friskier too so there is some subconscious way it’s communicated. Pheromones I assume.
Not helpful right now because we’re not TTC yet 😛
