That looks a lot bigger than 1/4 ct t.w. I’d say you got a great deal! Do you mind if I ask where you got it from? The FI and I are tossing around the idea of getting a set instead of just a band to go with my e-ring.

I don’t mean to be a downer but to me, that is not a very good price unless the specs are really good. I’ve seen 1 carat total weight engagement rings for about $500. It’s beautiful, looks more like at least 1/2 carat total weight!

@Andrewsmomma:  I have one! I love my petite diamond! Honestly, it doesn’t feel small to me at all, but just right 🙂 Yay 1/4 carat club!

Here is a pic of my ring with my plain yellow gold band. The pic came out kind of lame, but you get the idea, I was expirementing with Valentine’s Day chocolate, LOL. I would like to upgrade my wedding band when I renew my vows, but my ering will never be upgraded:

 Here is my favorite pic:

@Andrewsmomma:

It’s a beautiful ring and I do think you did well! Congrats and enjoy it!

@lenabee:  You mention that you have seen a 1 carat total weight for $500.00. What are the specs on that find?

@Andrewsmomma:  That ring looks really beautiful! Do you have any close up pics of your set? It looks to me like you got a deal, but honestly, I’m not knowledgable about such things.

@lenabee:  Ah ok. The inclusions can likely be seen, which wouldn’t appeal to me. The OP didn’t mention that it was highly included.  I guess we differ lenabee, I wouldn’t want such a low clarity (i2 and i3 are the lowest), but that is what makes our differences so interesting!

Pompeii3 is know to be of the lowest clarity and I don’t think they should be used as any sort of base line of price

I personally wouldn’t want something so included either, as my friend’s is the only I1-I3 I’ve seen that really sparkles IRL anyway. I was just thinking of prices I see often in chain stores, such as this one. http://www.zales.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12268385′ defer=’defer it’s a higher carat weight, as well. I wasn’t looking to be snarky, just giving an honest answer when asked for opinions. Since she didn’t say what all the specs were, it’s hard to tell if she’s getting a good deal or not. It looks bigger than 1/4 carat tw whatever the other specs are so I’d say that’s a win all by itself! 🙂

@lenabee:  No worries – I didn’t take your comment as snarky – I honestly wanted to understand what you were saying. And you’re right, it’s a win for the OP!
