I don’t have a BSH but I do have a cat who is an orange tabby BUT looks feature/weight-wise like a BSH.  She hates being held (meows horribly about it) but as soon as I put her down she’s up against my legs.

Edit: Here’s a photo of my girl who has very short fur that curves around her, she’s much rounder than most cats (very similar to BSH’s), and her eyes are super round!

She doesn’t do the meerkat/prairie dog anymore but she’ll fetch her string!

Oh my gosh!  We have 5 cats and one of them is a BSH.  She is absolutely the alpha female and she gets into such a lot of trouble!  The other cats will be sleeping and she will pounce on them and start nibbling at their ears or tails!  She is extremely obnoxious and if you have a mug of coffee standing unsupervised she will try to drink from it.  She is also the only cat that will jump onto the eye level oven if something is cooking in an attempt to see what it is!  They have a lotof personality and she also “talks” a lot, especially when she has grabbed hold of her ball and when she wants to play.  even though she is totally obnoxious and can be extremely in your face, I love her!  She is definitely marching to the sound of her own drum and, regardless whether she is much, much smaller than her other cat siblings, she completely rules the roost!  She is actually so obnoxious that she has a habit of going to the neighbours and hangs out there.  They are not cat friendly and they have dogs, but she has somehow taken to them!  She is spayed and everything, but she goes to visit every other day!

@dannielle89:  I grew up with a British shorthair that had several psycholigical disorders. Refused to be held and you would be scratched to bits if you tried. Very fussy with litter and food. Hid most of the time and was only interested in us at food times. My friend has a britidh kitten now though that seems friendlier.

We have two BSH cats and they are both little pests!! They get into everything, especailly food! Our olders one is awful for going bin raking, and the younger one loves to pounce and attack at every oppertunity! They certainly have big personalities!

We have a BSH and he is such a little cheeky monkey. He likes to steal food and has mad five minutes where he runs round like a loon knocking stuff over. A proper little trouble maker but he is just too cute!

@dannielle89:  i had a british blue and he had quite the personality.  he was never destructive or anything but very particular in his ways.  he was the only pet and got a lot of attention (when he wanted it) but he was incredibly loyal.

i don’t have a picture of him but he looked just like this, striped tail and all.  and yes, his coat felt like velvet.
