njkb:  I don’t have one.. I have a moissy… But that ring in the video is super pretty. And it’s hard to tell it’s not one whole diamond. Pretty cool.

I believe it is also called a ‘cluster ring’. Plenty of bees have them so I’m sure you’ll get lots of photos 🙂

njkb:  I’m PRETTY sure this style of ring is called a cluster ring. I haven’t heard starburst but I’m also not totally up on diamonds (I have a moissanite).

It looks like a round brilliant cut center stone surrounded by smaller diamonds.

You will find polarizing views on the bee here. I don’t own a cluster ring myself but personally, I think they can be totally beautiful (especially the ones that are more floral!). Search cluster ring and you may have a better result!

Do you have a pic of the one you are looking at?

This is definitely a popular style of ring, and many jewelers carry their own versions of rings like this. I was shocked while walking through a mall to see a stone the size I thought it was in a jeweler’s window, simply because most mall jewelers don’t keep larger stones on hand, let alone in their store windows. But when I stopped to look, I realized that it was a cluster set ring with an illusion setting designed to look like one larger stone. The one I saw was very similar to this:–1589431.aspx

I have a cluster ering! =) i love my ring i chose it over a halo style even though it wasn’t necessarliy cheaper. i find it difficult to keep clean though because it sits quite high..

I like cluster rings, they can get more sparkle than a diamond of a larger size that’s not a good cut (which is pretty common in chain mall stores) for a fraction of the cost.

It depends a lot on the design though. Some I think are gaudy, but some can be really gorgeous. I really like this one:

We just bought a wedding set for my cousin and his wife who live in Cuba. We sent them a few pics to choose from and this one was their choice. I can’t wait to give it to them! ^^ Her starburst set has a .75 TCW set in a 14k white gold setting.
