@Mrs. Gremmlin:  my sister has the vista and loves it.  Not sure what the differences are between that and the cruz.

@Mrs. Gremmlin:  She has the city select double jogger now and likes that, as well.  She really didn’t end up using the bassinet feature on the uppababy all that much, so it might not even be worth it.  She did say the rumble seat kind of sucks and isn’t in her opinion a viable option for 2 kids, if you’re planning on that in the future. Hope that helps!

ETA – you should check out albeebaby.com if you haven’t already, you can usually get a bit of a discount.

I am a nanny. I have pushed around many different kind of strollers and Uppa baby vista is the best stroller I have used. Its very durable and a smooth ride. and if you do decide to have another kid you can install a kick board and the older kid can stand on it while the younger kid can go in the normal seat.

I have been doing a lot of research on this as I am due at the beginning of February. I spoke to a very knowledgable sales person at length at a local store, where she told me about UppaBaby, Bugaboo, Britax, and Baby Jogger.  From what I understand the material for the frame of the Cruz is a bit less durable than that of the Vista (I can’t remember what the materials actually are) and there are, as you know, fewer options for customization.  She said that in the urban environment where I live the Vista is the most popular stroller that they sell currently, but the Cruz is also a very popular and sound option for those that don’t want/need to use the bassinette. People seem to really like things like the really big basket underneath, that you can fold it with the seat still attached, the large sunshade, and overall it’s supposed to be just a very good, very high quality stroller. She had nothing bad to say about the Cruz, and it’s definitely a stroller that you can use from newborn to 4+ years old, so I would think that’s a pretty good investment.

I am also due in December 🙂 I have been to a ton of baby stores and after using a bunch of different strollers (i’ve babysat my nephews many many times and they have a done of different strollers) I have decided the uppababy cruz is the stroller for me! It’s so easy to use and definitely light weight compared to other strollers. I also plan on getting the uppababy mesa carseat, so there is no need for an adapter to place directly on the stroller.
