i love my DB’s but I don’t have that one. I’d try it though. You never know what you might actually like or dislike until it’s on you. I thought I wanted ball gown until I got in one..

It is funny because I ABSOLUTELY hate pick-ups too…BUT THEN a DB consultant made me try on a dress very similar to the one in the picture. Ok she didn’t make me but she encouraged me to. I FELL IN LOVE!  It was so not what I was expecting. I went in to try on the Oleg Cassini tulle ball gown and walked out with a chiffon A line pick up dress. The ball gown made me look like a big piece of cake! LOL.

I tried this dress on and honestly dont think it looks as good as the picture makes it seem. The skirt falls very flat and the beading is very noticeable, not discreet like in the picture.

This dress was my number 1 pick before I went to try on dresses the first time, and I was little disappointed in it. I think this dress will look better on a taller person. Here are my pictures, I just wasn’t in love with the bodice, and the way the top part looked. Now the back of the dress is really beautiful. So I would suggest you go try it on, because if you don’t, you might always wonder what if.

And I actually almost fell over in that dress which my BM caught on video by accident, but it could be because I was in heels and the dress was too long. Looking back at the video, the dress doesn’t look that bad as I thought it did. Wish the bodice was better fitting.

I usually hate pickups too. But when they are not so big and poufy, and made of a soft material like tulle, organza, or lace, then it may look good to me.

If you like this style with the soft tulle pickups you might also like the following dresses from Maggie Sottero:

Best match: Jean (bustline is more flattering, beautiful use of lace)

Ashley is a bit different with its cap sleeves and dropped waist:

Cambria Marie again is very similar to the original style, but I like it better because of the use of lace:

Then there is Maeleigh – if you prefer a more uncommon look:

And finally Poppy. It has lace pickups – very unusual. I like the look, it is nearly

as airy as organza or tulle pickups but more interesting.

I tried this dress on and hated it.  The bodice felt like I was wearing a suit of armor.  Ick.

I did end up with a dress with a corset back and pickups on the skirt, but it’s Mori Lee, not David’s Bridal.  You should go in and try this one on, just to see how you feel in it.

I tried it on and didn’t like it at all. I’m a street 6, and I remember feeling like I looked huge in it and the bodice felt like it came too high. I didn’t like seeing the boning, and I discovered in this dress that I didn’t like pick-ups either.  Basically, I hated it. LOL

I think that is my friend Lorie’s dress…  The picture isn’t great but it’s the only one I have with me…  She really liked it.  The wedding was in FL in November on the beach and it wasn’t too hot or anything like that.  She’s pretty tall & very thin though which I think someone else mentioned helping the overall look.

No offense intended, but I think your friend’s dress is not the same style: the neckline on hers is a soft sweetheart, while the thread opener’s dress has a straight neckline. Or did your friend alter it?

none taken…  I honestly don’t know if she had the neckline altered…  but good call on it being slightly different.  I guess I didn’t notice because I have her whole look in my head as opposed to the little bit the picture shows…other then the neckline I think it’s the same…I laced her up myself and almost ripped one of the pickups helping her in the bathroom, lol…
