Though we’re not TTC for another few months, I’m interested in starting to test with OPKs to get a sense of my body’s rhythm now that I’m off BC. It seems like the OPKs are pretty tricky to accurately read and they can get expensive when you do two or more a day until getting a positive. SO, I was looking up alternatives. Does anyone use Fertile Focus/Maybe Baby to test their saliva instead? If so, did you use OPKs before? Did you find that it was easier to determine your results? I’m basically interested in it because it’s a one-time purchase… <br />Thanks ladies!

LizLemon: There are a couple of ladies in the Charters thread who use ferning microscopes! We were just chatting about it toward the end of part LXIII. Maybe try posting in the new Charters thread so folks who have used both can compare?
FWIW I use the Wondfo OPKs that are much loved around here and they are super cheap! Also, I’m guilty of several “Is this a positive OPK?” posts myself, but usually when I have to ask, it’s because I want it to be positive but know it’s not. A true positive is obvious, although it’s easy to miss.

I use fertile focus. OPK’s don’t seem to work for me since I drink a lot of water. Although I just dropped my microscope the other day and the light is now broken! I’m going to buy another one if we don’t get KU this cycle. Its been really cool to watch my saliva throughout my cycle. Although I had what I thought to be full ferning CD10 this month and haven’t yet O’d (I’m on CD 16 now) so I’m not sure if it was just too close to AF or what.
