I need processional music.  non-traditional.  I LOVE the sound of Bruce Springsteens Secret Garden.  Obviously the instrumental version!  But we hired a 3 piece jazz type band which is a sax, flute and drums (not big loud drums, but I don't know what it is called).  He said they could learn it, but doesn't think it will sound good with their instruments.  Does anyone have any ideas on this type of band?  He says they usually play all the typical love songs and traditional ceremony music.  I don't know what I was thinking not having strings and piano for our ceremony!  AM I completely screwed here?

Why don't you ask for a list of things they can play and make some selections from there? And you can get a feel for what they can do and suggest songs from there.

I have, and he gives me some of the songs they play, but so far its just nothing I like.....I think I am just going to add this to my list of things that I just don't care about anymore!

You know what I'm walking down the aisle to- Enya "only time"...

That being said, do a google search for "vitamin string quartet"... they have string versions of rock, pop and even rap artists... U2, wheezer, dashboard confessionals, The offspring, jet, jessica simpson, hoobastank, coldplay, aerosmith... to name a few. Anyhow you would never thing those types of songs would sound great in string, but boy do they!!!
Could they do Secret Garden- probably so... and if they tried hard enough, I bet they could find sheet music to it somewhere. Even more so, I bet it would sound fine if they tried hard enough (like the words part be played by the flute so people who really know springsteen would recognize it).
