I am going back and forth on altering the neckline of my Casablanca 1995. I said from the very beginning that I wanted a sweetheart neckline. I do not want it very pronounced but I do want a more defined one then what is on the dress. The bridal shop told me they could do it no problem when I ordered the dress and told me not to have Casablanca do it because they could alter it for free. I went for my first fitting yesterday and when I told them I wanted them to make the neckline a more defined sweetheart, they started telling me that it will not look right and it will not have a smooth transition. Does anyone know if they can really do this with out cutting super low into my dress? I spent so much money on the dress and don’t want to ruin it but really want a sweetheart top…

@greeneyegirl: Hello. 🙂 I think they’re trying to push their own style preferences on you. I would take it to another seamstress to have it done.
Here’s a Bee bride (more photos at the link) that deepened the sweetheart, and it looks stunning.

Oh I LOVE this dress with a sweetheart neckline! I would absolutely go for it! However, I would go elsewhere for alterations. Bridal salons tend to not have the greatest value as far as seamstresses go. A sweetheart neckline should only cost you around $60, from what I have seen anyway. And obviously it will change depending on region.

Thank you girls for your responses and for the picture! I do like it! Do any of you other bees have pictures of your Casablanca 1995 with a more defined sweetheart neckline? I don’t want the sweetheart to be cut too deep… I would like to see more pictures of 1995 with the defined sweetheart top (not customized through Casablanca).
