I was thinking about what to do for centerpieces, I really want candles AND flowers and I don’t want tiny flower arrangements either so I remembered when I was a little girl I use to pick wild flowers out of the fields and along the road(we lived in the country) and the flowers were really beautiful and there were so many different kinds and they were FREE lol! So I thought that using wild flowers would be a way to have the larger flower arrangements that I want, with beautiful flowers and cut costs. I also think that having those kind of flowers would be pretty unique and nastalgic

The issue I would see, depending on where you live, if your year was anything like ours, the wildflowers were very lacking due to weather. If youre counting on them it might be heartbreaking when there just aren’t the pretty ones you want.

@USAandKSA: I’m really not sure. Lots of the “wildflowers” I picked as a kid were actually just pretty weeds. Plus where are you located? Not all places will have the same type of wildflowers growing there. Some of my favorites are:
Queen Anne’s Lace
Johnny Jump Ups

You can buy wildflower seed mixes and grow your own if you have access to a plot of land( or several small gardens).

On the plains we have wild roses, cone flowers, black-eyed susans, sunflowers, pasque (although these are rare), golden rod… The site below has South Dakota wildflowers listed:

@Julies1949 Thats a good idea that might insure that I actually have some flowers if the weather is a little off. Thanks 🙂
